This is something I've been thinking about lately, how mankind is in terrible danger.

>Our issue? Man is stuck on one planet, and he has weapons enough to destroy the entire earth. We roll a incalculable statistical chance every day we wake up, one of absolute annihilation and death. It would only take one leader having a mental breakdown, one leader's terrible spite, one computer system's miscalculation and there is a good chance man is gone forever because of nuclear annihilation, or an even worse weapon. No more man ever again. He is gone.

>We must conquer and colonize the stars. The loss of the earth would be the most terrible tragedy man had ever received, but if man, if a million men inhabited far off planets and solar systems it means the chances of us being wiped out is almost nill. Man might, if not for some gruesome phenomena unknown, would theoretically be impossible to destroy. A terrible disease could be mitigated by planetary quarantine, the blow of an alien genocide or invasion softened by plans to colonize solar systems unimaginably far away, hidden away in all corners of the far galaxy.

>This is our most desperate imperative, conquering the starts needs to be our no.1 goal. Man is so close to immortality, to die now would be such a pathetic failure.

If the dinosaurs went extinct by creating nukes and then nuking themselves to death we'd probably think they were total retards. Hopefully we get hit by a massive asteroid instead and then we can get the respect of those who come after us like the respect we give the humble dinosaur

Nuclear annihilation is a midwit take. Total nuclear war will not wipe out humanity. Nuclear winter was made up. Nuclear radiation from ground bursts dissipates to safe levels in two weeks. Some countries will collapse, but most will be left completely unaffected allowing them to become the new dominant powers. Don't by into meme science anon

We've been at that point for the last 60 years retard.
What's scary is the fear of nuclear deterrent seems to be waning with the younger generations as the experience of the cold war fades.
Soon we'll have more gen-X, millenial and god help us zoomer age politicians with the ability to obliterate the earth.
Shit on the boomers all you want at least they had a healthy fear of nuclear war due to their cold war childhood.

Welcome to the cold war panic that gripped everyone in the 70's/80's. The proverbial sword of Damocles hangs over all of humanities heads, and somehow it's mutually assured destruction (MAD science) is what keeps this in check. If anyone launches a nuke, everyone launches a nuke, and everyone dies. You give people the option to flee nuclear armageddon and suddenly that calculus changes.

Humanity is an evil cancer. The best thing that can happen is for the cancer to die out. The only sane and rational course of action is voluntary extinction.

Actual whitepill: Human extinction isn't a bad thing.
