1 glacier growing could be explained by a warmer atmosphere driving humid air further into Antarctica & increasing snowfall even as temperatures go up.

A good way to test this hypothesis would be to look at all glaciers across all latitudes and see if the majority are growing or shrinking, and why.

Why would they melt from the bottom up? Ice is insulative. Isn’t the whole point that global warming is the production of gasses that retain the Sun’s heat? So the temperature change is in the air above the glacier.
