Well, it's shingles at that point. I've got a relative that never registered immunity for it, despite having to have it done again for school and new jobs each time. Just didn't carry antibodies after. I wonder how common that is.

I remember reading a study about the chickenpox vaccine a few years ago, how older people were having much higher rates of reactivation with very intense symptoms like 7 years into the inclusion of the vaccine into the schedule. They were theorizing that the natural immunity from strong young people was bolstering the older folks immune responses, and either by absence or because the immunity was different the repriming wasnt occuring anymore.
