what would make soda never go flat?

carbon dioxide

if it was flat to begin with, that or magnets.

It can't be helped

A nanotech glass that extracts CO2 from surrounding air and releases it into the liquid.

Or just a glass with a microporous bottom under which is a cartridge of dry ice.

the entire enjoyment of coke is the carbon dioxide gas coming out of solution. It's what makes it fizzy and effervescent.

It won't go flat if you store it under pressure, but it's not entertaining in that state. Once it's opened, you could probably drop some dry ice into it to keep it fun, but you'd really need dry ice and pressure to put the CO2 back into solution.

over thinking it.

Don't open the container.
it'll stay good till then.

Soda is fizzy because of the dissolved CO2. When you open it, the pressure changes and the CO2 starts becoming a gas:
>CO2(aq) <-> CO2(g)
It's an equilibrium, so changing the system will shift the balance of dissolved and gaseous CO2.
Methods of increasing dissolved concentration (ie decrease Kc):
1) Pressurize
2) Cool (forwards reaction is endothermic)
3) Add more CO2 gas (shifts equilibrium)

>> No.1591895

>>1591888 summary
1) Get a pump to pressurize the bottle, or close the lid and squeeze it hard
2) Add ice

Once you open the bottle it stops being a closed system (the gas escapes), so you will never get it back to the original fizzyness without adding CO2

Drinking it in a reasonable amount of time.

OP if you can invent something that does this cheaplyI guarantee you could become rich.

Sorry dude but I'm gonna steal that shit and become rich. Thanks. Already started sketching the CO2 extracting mechanism. Problem is though, how do I fit it into a glass?
