https://spacenews.com/gao-report-recommends-faa-evaluate-launch-mishap-investigation-procedures/
(((unidentified industry stakeholders))) represented by the GAO + the house transportation committee want the FAA to move away from operator-led launch mishap investigations, which may increase the duration of investigations by 10 to 20 times. This is coming from the GAO and the house. It's very suspect, especially just after IFT-2 and the recent hearing on how overburdened the FAA is.
Saying all of that kind of misses the most ridiculous thing: In order for the FAA to do an independent investigation, they'd need to somehow obtain the relevant expertise and knowledge to actually figure out what went wrong, ala the NTSB, which requires a intimate knowledge of the vehicle involved. This is in an industry where vehicle designs are unique to the launch operator, many of which are experimental in nature.
That's a mad amount of work to foist on an agency already struggling under its present obligations. Seems malicious.

He said that, but then also said the Government should be designing the rocket/lander, not the company, basically begging for Shuttle 2.0. Griffin strings based and cringe statements together in an incoherent babble. Says we cant go without a HLV (we have two). Complains about gateway and Artemis as mismanaged (true but not as mismanaged as Constellation) and argues we're further away from a Moon landing than ever (delusional). Tiptoed around every question at the end, saying he doesnt know enough about Starship HLS or New Glenn to comment. Is he living under a fucking rock? more likely he's just lying or was paid to get a narrative out there.

Why would Elon need to spend more than a year or two learning aerospace engineering, when everyone that HAS spent 8+ years learning it hasn't accomplished a single notable thing since the 1970s? If anything, the level of specialization everyone else in the industry goes through with their education is a detriment to progress. The entire mentality behind SpaceX is basically "engineer the process, not the part" i.e: don't waste engineering talent on overcomplicating a part to solve an issue; instead, use the resources to simplify and streamline as much as possible first. That attitude is complete anathema to the aerospace sector - every other company SpaceX competes with is violently allergic to the mere suggestion of simple and cheap solutions to complex problems.

The EMU also sucks mega AIDS dicks and causes pretty gnarly injuries (it's been known to skin knees and rip fingernails off) because of its one-size-fits-none nature.

>Rescue LM
The LM’s two-stage main propulsion system, combined with the fully redundant reaction control system and versatile guidance and navigation capability, offered an in-orbit maneuvering manned vehicle of unique capability. The application of this capability by a LM with very limited modifications would permit in-orbit intercept of, and rendezvous with, other space vehicles for such purposes as personnel rescue, and spacecraft inspection or repair.

Nothing he says is really meaningful
first 20 minutes is self-fellation and asserting his expertise by telling stories how his whole family worked on rockets, followed by motivational speech on how great Apollo was how Artemis should be more like Apollo
>you need a lot of meetings and be smart and you can do it, just like grandpa
Then he rambles on about destructive tests are important and how you cannot do baby steps (something he was apparently blown away but forgot about by the next slide)
I'm sure the whole thing was entertaining intermission for the 20 or so attendees in the room. These symposiums are incredibly boring.

Anyway, the few technical key points he makes are beyond ignorant and misleading.
Refuelling was in fact already demonstrated (not by Starship, I admit).

Fuel depots specifically would make SLS rather pointless
Instead of SLS, you could use Falcon heavy (or even Atlas V) for fraction of the costs

Not that he was completely happy with SLS.
He demanded SLS should change the boosters to liquid fuelled ones in the future. Not because solids are more expensive, dangerous or inefficient, but because they are made in Utah.

I want to find all of the new discoverables, I'm pretty sure I already found everything in the game upon release. Pic is outdated, Duna looks better now since Blackrack started working his magic and he says there will be a substantial boost in FPS in the upcoming version.

FH can easily put the X-37B into Geo, so it's almost certainly going to Geo. A regular F9 is enough to put it into anything LEO, and medium/high orbit don't really have any relevancy afaik.
