Bros how do we respond? Is this really just an issue of "perspective"? NASA fucked up with the CGI rendering. Why can't we admit this instead of doubling down?

What the f*ck is that?? Did NASA made 100 square kilometer prank?

When you're closer to something it looks bigger.

That's the effect of "fish eye" lens you flatbrains love to mention, exaggerating the curvature of the earth. The ISS is not that far above the earth.

ISS is allegedly in outer space, how can it be "not far above earth" as well?

It's not a fish eye, it's the fact that when you are closer to a sphere you can see less off it. It's still going to be a sphere, you just can't see most of it.

>> No.15799397

>>15799393
What you posted is true, but the ISS is not far enough above the earth to see that much curvature. It's a fish eye effect.

This is how much away from the surface is the ISS in proportion to Earth's radius. Brought to you by Geogebra cause i didn't bother searching an illustration for a retard like you.

>> No.15799427

>>15799377
You are retarded. The second image is taken from the ISS, which is only ~370 km above the Earth. The first image was clearly taken from much further away, what looks to be geostationary, which is 35,786 km. When you move closer to something, that something increases in size. I'd hope that a 5 year old would be able to understand this, but it seems you can't.

Outer space starts a hundred kilometers above the earth, and stretches out to infinity. The earth has a diameter of 12700 kilometers and change, so something orbiting at 100 kilometers up is really quite close to it compared to its size. Imagine what a photo of >>15799393 would look like when made from a distance less than 1% of the diameter of the globe -- that would be a picture taken from about 4 millimeters of height.

The thing they have made a picture of here looks bigger from up close, and that is *very confusing* to some people.

The further away from a ball you are, the more of the ball you can see. Shocking result.

You can't get a full view of the Earth from the ISS. The red circle in this picture is how much of the surface you can see.

I'm coming around to the idea that flat earth is a psyop to distract from more sinister conspiracies
even for 4channel this is egregiously retarded
