elon and his cock-sucking simps have convinced all the normies to fill the streets of the earth with batteries, that literally die within ~2 years of heavy usage.
"trust me bruh: they last 10" yeah because you assume light usage and because you overdesign and oversell cars.

the japs as smarter when they keep the advantages of the electric motor, but use electric hydrogen cells instead. it's way smarter for efficiency too since you can produce hydrogen at remote places and when it's efficient and not when mr normie #12312 wants to charge in the middle of the day at a random congested spot.

also public transportation that is clean and fast and modern would be more suitable for most normies.

no bro that's retarded, way less efficient, more expensive and pollutes more overall, since it's less efficient and all that. it can't technically cost less and pollute less you see? because any source of hydrogen you can imagine will cost you electricity, if you find a sustainable hydrogen source, such as fucking water. you can take that initial electricity you use to break down water and like power the car through batteries which are VERY recyclable happens already:

true. elon is retarded when it comes to power. I don't get it. The solar and batteries combo is the biggest scam in 'green' energy, provabky worse than even wind turbines. Nuclear fission is obviously the best and the single future power source, which doesn't require batteries since you can have continuous operation. Solar is a neat little gimmick but it will work even worse on Mars than it does here. Mars has plenty of deuterium and will have a 100% nuclear powered economy from the moment go if colonisation ever happens.

retard normie #12511 charges their battery at random times in the middle of a congested area.

that's expensive.

cheap is to have a nuclear plant producing hydrogen in a controlled manner or any other random energy source at design times and not when any retard wants to pull it from the grid.

>> No.15762816

>>15761829
So? Cars have computers in them. Include a copy of your contract with your power company and the car can automatically charge itself when power is cheapest. Just plug it in at night. The program would be simple to write and you could even have it charge your car when electricity if cheapest and sell it when it's most expensive which reduces both your power bills and the energy demand of the entire grid. All you have to do is plug it in when you're not driving it.

When have you ever had trouble finding a spot to park at work? Are you a Jimmy John's driver or something? Parking is a non-issue. If parking lots were required to have solar shades then it would be trivial to equip each spot with a charging interface as well. Your car stays cooler, electric cars can be charged or used as grid storage, the owner of that parking lot gets a smaller power bill, the city gets more power, and the air is cleaner. It's better for everyone even if 1% (or whatever) of the cars on the road still use gas or diesel.

I did the math and wood biofuel(and wood gassifiers as a subclass) is not a viable alternative to solar. The netto amount of power you harvest from a square meter is abysmal. You'd need a huge farm to power a single homestead. Only countries like Russia and maybe Canada could pull this off, but they already have oil.

It's very low tech and very renewable however.

>> No.15785640

>>15785292
Biofuels are better used for carbon sequestration and mitigation by turning them into biochar. The biomass is charred to charcoal and then added to a compost pile, fed to livestock, or otherwise "charged" with microbes and nutrients, for example by soaking it in compost tea for a week. In compost piles, at about 5-20% by weight, it helps reduce the methane, nitrous oxide, and leachate produced by the pile while increasing the aeration and the temperature of the pile. As feed supplement for livestock or pets, at about 1-2% of the feed weight, it improves digestion and absorbs toxins while reducing fecal odor, ammonia, and methane produced by the animal. The charged biochar is used as a soil amendment which increases the water infiltration and holding capacity, root penetration, microbe activity, and cation exchange capacity while acting as a slow release fertilizer. If you can't make your own charcoal then you can buy lump charcoal to crush and use in the same way.

>use electric hydrogen cells instead
You think batteries are inefficient compared to fuel cells? Fuel cells won't even last 2 years. They're way more expensive and delicate than batteries. And then you have to produce, store, and transport hydrogen. Yeah, sounds way better.

They absolutely do not. They crap out even faster than batteries.

The catalysts poison easily and the NaFion membranes eventually degrade. In "harsh" (normal) conditions they degrade even faster.

I just looked this up and there has been a breakthrough! A new design can last up to 200 hours without degradation of performance!
