>Coca-Cola 'paid scientists to downplay how goyslop fueled the obesity crisis between 2013-2015,' medical journal study finds

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-8589497/Coca-Colas-work-scientists-low-point-history-public-health.html

>The Global Energy Balance Network (GEBN), founded in 2014, claimed to be a group of researchers studying causes of obesity
>Researchers now say it was 'front group' for Coca-Cola to promote that a lack of exercise, not a bad diet or sugar, is driving the US obesity epidemic
>An analysis of emails showed that GEBN tried to downplay that Coca-Cola was a donor and how much it donated
>The beverage company also supported a close team of academics that was dubbed the 'email family'

Why are scientists all such greedy, unethical whores?

>> No.15712840

The problem isn't scientists, greed, lack of ethics, or even whores!!
The problem is fundamentally money is flawed system.

In current society money is necessary for survival, yet as a resource necessary for survival money can only be acquired from one place. It comes from our other fellow human beings that we share society with.
The smart ones have all figured that in order to survive in this society, it necessitates predation on other humans.

I wouldn't even blame the scientists or Coca-Cola. The problem is society.

Tbh Coca cola didn't even need to pay anybody off. Maybe some politicians to keep out restrictions on sugary beverages.

Lies within lies anon. It's not just Cola.
Americans back then ate mac and flushed it down with Coca-Cola too.
One thing was different. No High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Literal metabolic poison produced with government subsidies and allowed by FDA (FDA you had one job!).

Back then the cola was also in a small glass bottle rather than in a goyslop bucket lined with estrogen

I don't know about that, the corn industry was already trying to put itself in every aspect of the economy even back then, I see pictures like these and think of my grandfather who had a good physic at 20 (1950) and at 30 was already packing on pounds, pic related is probably all just young people at the beach, cause in the 50s by the time you were 30 you spent all your time working already

HFCS literally started in 70s. Its consumption and obesity epidemics and go together in US.

>>15716586
That is consequences of the HFCS too. Fructose among other things increases craving fro fructose and normal food and glucose doesn't kick in hard enough comparing to that and consumer wants more and more fructose.

Money isn't neccessary for survival when you already have millions. Tech and science people in pop culture seem get some kind of malevolent enjoyment out of fucking over the population. What else causes people like Huberman, Fridman, and Musk to bullshit people into buying garbage? They already have all the money they will ever need.

it was kicked into high gear in the early 80s when all the soft drink companies swtiched away from real sugar

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Coke
>The new product continued to be marketed and sold as Coke (until 1990, when it was renamed Coke II) while the original formula was named Coca-Cola Classic, and for a short time it was referred to by the public as Old Coke. Some who tasted the reintroduced formula were not convinced that the first batches really were the same formula that had supposedly been retired that spring. This was true for a few regions, because Coca-Cola Classic differed from the original formula in that all bottlers who had not already done so were using high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) instead of cane sugar to sweeten the drink, though most had by this time.[11]:183

Agreed. Instead of being paid, scientists should be provided with only the food and shelter they need to survive. I'm sure this will be a very productive system free of all corruption.

Scientists are just a cog in a machine. They have always been the useful idiots - insecure from teenages so will bend-over to anyone who is willing to call them 'smart'.

That's just life.
Money represents human labor.
Being rich = having a lot of people work for your well-being.
Even when you buy a physical thing, you're actually paying for labor - work it took to extract resources from the ground, process them, bring the thing to your door (also work of the law enforcement system to protect your property right to said thing).
