Simple question, where did the energy that caused the big bang come from?

Ultimate answer in science is "just because".
And no, "god" isn't the answer, it's just indirection:
If you accept the concept of "god" then you may as well simply accept the "just because" answer (because that's what you're doing anyway).

From the things that were there before the big bang. The universe and time existed before it.

Energy didn't cause the BB, the BB caused energy. It's like a video of a water balloon exploding played in reverse.

More like if you watch the power from Gandolf's wizard staff in reverse if you knew what you are talking about.

a theory i saw that was pretty neat is that it was two dimensions colliding with one another.

(as an example) If you imagine two infinitely large flat planes of steel that slowly move towards one another, eventually the point where they contact first will experience an overwhelmingly insane amount of heat and pressure at that exact point. Which will push them apart once again.

No. There was no spacetime for it to exist in. The virtual spacetime was booted up at that point. Physicality is that which is occurring IN the spacetime. The universe is that which is defined within the spacetime. You can not appeal to some PHYSICAL cause for the initiation of spacetime and that which is defined within it because that would require it to exist before it's own beginning, which is illogical.. The the cause of the physical and the natural must specifically NOT be physical or natural. It must be PRIOR to the physical/universe, but not in terms of of some universe related delta T sequence of processing cycles. The cause was "super-physical" or "super-natural".
>>15701734
It came from non physical computation "outside of" or "non-local" to the spacetime. Some non-local processing or computation. This has been born out in the fact that ALL physical causation, fundamentally, is non-local.

>Simple question, where did the energy that caused the big bang come from?

Somebody will (you) me, but I was under the impression the Universe has always existed and just goes through a life cycle similar to a jellyfish or a flowering plant: it sprouts from an infinitely dense seed, it expands in all directions, energy forms progressively more complex relationships with matter, ?maybe it produces fruit in the form of other blackholes or temporal/gravitational anomalies? eventually it reaches a point where it's done growing and crunches back into itself to do it all over again.

Granted, I'm probably wrong, but everything else in nature recycles itself endlessly. I don't see why the Universe would be any different.
