Anti aging is a fucking scam because the sorts of damage that aging really consists of can't be repaired through pills or potions.

1) accumulation of significant deposits of pollutants within the body. your body doesnt have an enzyme or mechanism for removing every single type of junk and gunk.

2) loss of the foetal blueprint. tissues start off with a very clean pattern early in life. this pattern is slowly eroded and its impossible to regain without surgery. for example the tendons and muscles are slowly pulled toward their center of tension, making them permanently shorter. organs microherniate and once the problem persists long enough it becomes permanent. blood veins branch too much and some veins become useless turbulence creators requiring more blood pressure to pump the same amount of blood. no solution except surgery. veins also narrow due to growth of surrounding tissue or turn varicose.

3) infiltration by wrong cell type. over a lifetime all sorts of cells end up in the wrong place either due to local migration, herniation, migrating thru the blood etc. your immune system cant fix this because it has no way of knowing that those cells shouldn't be there. so now you have some random liver cell in your lungs pumping out all the wrong substances and confusing its neighbours.

4) you accumulate a fuckload of viruses in critical tissues. your immune system doesnt want to nuke your lungs or heart so it plays a balancing act between removing the virus and sparing the tissue. e.g. a lot of recurrent pericarditis is caused by viral DNA left permanently within the heart tissue which confuses the immune system. this process is cumulative, as so many viruses hide permanently in your body

This is just scratching the surface. Fixing aging is not going to happen. The only option is having a class of people who are grown to age 10 and the rich get to implant their brains in their bodies, and then those brains are rejuvenated with stem cells and whatnot.

>accumulation of significant deposits of pollutants
This isn't what causes aging. It's a meme.

>loss of the foetal blueprint.
This is a good idea, but it's wrong. The germ line proves that ANY DNA damage can be overcome.

>infiltration by wrong cell type
I don't think this is that much of a concern.

The major causes of aging are zombie cells that can no longer multiply and start just shitting up the place and the lack of healthy stem cells to replace worn out tissues. We've known what aging is for decades. It's the gradual process of all your cells reaching Hayflick limit. But that's forbidden knowledge now, because it might actually result in progress.

Sure but if you just increase telomerase you're increasing risk of cancer right? And iirc a lot of tissues age but don't display significant telomere shortening.

Clearly whatever happens is quite systemic because most people are kind of fine until 60-65 and then suddenly deteriorate a lot.

If its simply DNA damage then I guess we will see what happens when the next generation of therapies comes out which CRISPRs a person's cells back to their baseline DNA. We will see this soon enough. I hope it works.

once we become death-proof we will have backups. there will be no sensible way to kill anyone anymore, like ever. you can "kill" one body, but they'll just spawn again.
once we become immortal killing does not mean that person is not around anymore. maybe for a short while until new body is assembled.
people having issues with immortality can just take the exit. or wait it out and kill yourself of old age. that will always be an option, nobody is forcing you. go ahead and die, we'll enjoy as much as this universe supports us.

>death can not be experienced, you will always be alive.
this is true. also you can't experience the time you are offline as it were. 1 day, 10 years, 1 million years = the same feeling of time passed = short nap. which implies that if somehow we figure out how to reverse entropy/backwards time travel or shit like that, you become possible to be reconstructed. if you ever get reconstructed in the future, you will close your eyes knowing you will die (say old age) and then you'll wake up like after a short nap, 1 gorillion years in the future when some advanced aliens land here and reconstruct you, somehow. if it's possible you will experience it next after dying. which kinda weirdly ties into the whole religion thing, which I usually have to draw parallels to, but I won't ignore it if it's there. not in the sense that they are literally right, in the sense that they may have partially understood what the fuck will happen.

I could also make the scientific argument that hell is also possible. yeah wait
so, if you WILL experience something after dying, there's all sorts of situations where you might end up in. high chances it's here, somehow.
now, what you want to make sure, is that that does not happen or isn't even possible, tho not sure how you'd guarantee that.
theoretically, like common sense, the best thing you can do is try to leave the world in a better place than you found it. that might help you when you get ressurected/reassembled whatever the fuck, technologically speaking. I mean purely statistically speaking, the only thing you can personally do is really just fucking try and leave the world behind in a better state than you found it. that is what you can realistically do to improve your chances that whatever happens after you die, here, has chances of working out instead of going to shit.
if you fuck everyone over and leave more chaos behind, that may very well bite you in the ass, and you may literally be technologically resurrected in some biblical type hell.
thinking of starting a technoreligion. who's in?

and I'm not even joking. take the following scenario. some religious fanatics hold on tight during the next major tech evolution, and in few hundreds of years/thousands, they still have political control, and they manage to control the tech to such degree, that if they really are fanatical about it, they might get the fucking technological chance of fucking resurecting anyone that has ever lived, have access to all of their experiences, and they decide to fucking punish you for everything they consider you fucked up with. apart from the whole reversing entropy bit the rest is kinda possible. if the future technologically enhanced religious zealots can summon you at any point in the future, you might have already fucked yourself. jussain
