"Climate change is a hoax", they say.

Fine; let's play that particular little fantasy out to its logical conclusion.

Let's suppose for the sake of discussion that climate change is indeed a hoax, that 97% of the world's scientists are in a big secret conspiracy to trick Cletus and Billy Joe Bob because... uh, because reasons.

So what? So what if it really WERE a hoax? So what if they've fooled all of us? What's the end result? We end up with breathable air and clean drinking water? I'm not seeing a downside to that.

If global warming were a hoax then the hoax would appeal strongly to entitled, low iq, mentally ill narcissists with savior complexes. the people who were genuinely concerned about air quality would be out planting trees somewhere rather than playing climate evangelist on the internet

Why do you care what climate scientists are saying?
Is it not absolutely clear to you by now that virtually everyone including the most leftist governments in the world have no intention whatsoever of leaving any of their fossil fuel reserves in the ground?
Why not let the climate scientists and environmentalists yap about impending doom all they want since everyone is basically ignoring them anyway?

>97% of the world's scientists are in a big secret conspiracy
Small, mediocre, mundane minds like yours have no grasp of the dynamics of any system bigger than whatever soulless office environment you spend your days in. Those who control the incentives and filters of a system control its output. There doesn't need to be any coordination between masses of useful idiots pumping out garbage science. They could have a million different motives: some are just brainwashed believers, others have built a whole career around a set of premises punched into them at a stage where they were little more than trusting information sponges and can't even psychologically handle the idea that everything they've ever done was trash, yet others think there is no downside to doing bad science and that they're doing the right thing in the name of their sociopolitical beliefs. In any case, the environment simply selects for those who will parrot whatever is desirable and against those who don't.

lmao what a cheap attempt to deflect. Scientifically, oil has big disadvantages due to carbon emissions and pollution. Politically, it has big disadvantages due to dependence on OPEC countries (look at the list and tell me this isn't a disadvantage).

That doesn't make sense on an level. That tax-free panel is paid from my money and the government doesn't interfere like it does with virtually everything else.
>i don't want shitty panels that require me to buy 20k€ worth of additional infrastructure
What infrastructure? You're talking out of your own ass. Even if you're completely unskilled, it costs ~1000€. If you can build things your own, it gets even cheaper.
>i'm perfectly fine paying for nuclear
>I'm perfectly fine paying for the most expensive type of electricity while being 100% dependent on the government I distrust so much

your setup needs to pass an inspection if you want to connect it to the grid, which you have to because it can't run your house alone (if you want to use your land for far more critical stuff, like food)
>what infrastructure
inverter, switchboard, batteries
1000€ covers the battery at best, but it's the work that is expensive
>build things your own
okay, then it costs 60k€ because my time is more expensive than the electrician's and i'd be doing it for the first time, which means even more time spent than they do
guess an academicuck who can just fuck around all day, occasionally shitting out shoddy paper can't comprehend that people's time is valuable because the value of his time is somewhere near 0
>nuclear is the most expensive type of electricity
as expected from the green loonies, more shilling
even if that was the case, i'm fine with that because i actually care about the environment and i don't want more lithium mines or to see decomissioned wind and solar plants lying around in the forest (if you live near them, you know what actually happens to the parts that were replaced)
i'm perfectly fine paying extra for nuclear while we're working on fusion

Yes you're right, climate policies never hurt us ever we should lean into it harder and to line our leader's pockets.
>>15678313
Let's have a case study of climate policy: London ULEZ
>100iq politicians need to generate more tax revenue
>introduce new tax
>"yes it's for your benefit"
>while citing studies funded by taxpayer's money
One interesting example is how the .gov websites drum up sensational reports on how great their polices are: "New report reveals the transformational impact of the expanded Ultra Low Emission Zone so far" https://www.london.gov.uk/new-report-reveals-transformational-impact-expanded-ultra-low-emission-zone-so-far
While the actual research suggests:
"Corresponding author of the research Dr Marc Stettler, from Imperial’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Centre for Transport Studies, said: “Our research suggests that a ULEZ on its own is not an effective strategy to improve air quality""
https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ac30c1
I'm not necessarily an anti climate change activist but I cannot support any climate based policy because they're detrimental to my standard of living while conveniently generating cash for the government.
