Should this be taken seriously? I am not too scientifically savvy so please let me know if I have any misunderstanding.

It sounds like it wasn't done in any kind of controlled setting. We get 1 more expert opinion from Blatner who also reviewed the results. The sample size is 1 person, 1 trial.

What's the validity of this? What could be missing? If this went as well as they say it did (improvement by all health markers I believe is what's implied) then why isn't this being looked into more? After 13 years, why is all major health advice contradictory to this method? Should it be treated as clickbait/sensational nonsense?

Thanks for any feedback.

Austically rigorous dieticians would "be more retarded" than a Mathematics and Physics based board?

They weigh their meals and count calories and vitamins, or theyre like me and gorge anything with super high calories like slices of pie and ice cream for breakfast BECAUSE IM AN ADULT NOW.

Idk man. As someone who's lost over 150 lbs and maintained it for several years, I just don't see how.

I had many failed attempts, and always failed before losing 30 lbs. Problem was I felt hungry and drained all the time and I still was eating too many calories. By the time I lost ~25 lbs, I had completely plateaued on the weight loss and my brain fog got to critical levels. Once I ate a nutritious diet, it was much easier to lose larger amounts of weight without feeling sick.

That's why I always assume the CICO model is useless despite being technically true.

Sure, the cheeto diet for weight loss is a stupid idea that won't work for most people. But the cico model is just cutting to the most salient truth of weight loss. That the healthiness of your diet doesn't matter if you eat too much. Satiety is the factor most people struggle with, and whole foods tend to be more filling than ultra processed. That's the whole effect in a nut shell. Obviously there's more to losing weight with regards to life circumstances and genetics, but all diets have to obey that fundamental law. There is no way to violate cico unless you are infested with parasites.

That being said, the consensus seems to be shifting towards overweight people having some kind of inherited satiety problem. That's why drugs like ozempic are probably the future. The willpower diet plan is clearly not effective with all the dopamine exploiting processed foods available these days.

>> No.15652134

The takeaway of the study is that what we understand as unhealthy foods are those which provide an unbalanced or poor input of macronutrients compared to the calories they provide, whereas healthy foods make it far easier to hit all the macronutrients for a decent calorie intake

i.e. you have a hope of being healthy even in adverse food buying conditions if you pay attention to what you are putting in your mouth

"Nutrition science" is pure propaganda. Nutrition as a whole is too complex to be studied scientifically. The best you can make are some vague qualitative statements that the human body need a certain list of nutrients and that gross overconsumption can be harmful. Any claim that a certain diet was superior or allegedly more healthy than another one is nothing more than clickbait. Nutrition is an extremely individual thing.

While few talk about it...food is a HUGE deal in body building, but they will stress the other side of health, lifting. If you can find the actual body builders on /fit/, and they are a few there that look just below magazine tier, they would know some shit.

Nutrition matters when you have a deficit. There is no benefit to having more nutrients than your body needs.

Yeah I'm sure someone who can barely handle a basic discussion on 4chan is really capable in academia.

All those achievements yet you get your validation from trying to prove yourself to anons

I'm sure it's impossible for brainlets like you to comprehend that I was posting a discussion post out of general interest. I have no doubt that you'll continue to show your lack of understanding.

It really bothered you to see a general discussion post that you weren't qualified to contribute to, so you decided to try to troll the conversation. Now you're all over the place, what a mess lol. I find it's funny when I see trolls getting trolled and they can't stand it.
