It is intrinsically linked.
Move a magnet near a conductor, and the magnetic field lines passing through it cause electrons to move (current) which causes an opposing magnetic field. (see pic related and how the tube slows the magnet down) Move it near a stronger conductor and the effect will be more pronounced because it causes more current.
Move the magnet near a superconductor, and the effect is noticible even on microscopic movements.
