>Two teens, one 14 and the other 13, attempted to break into Schur's car on July 6th. His car alarm went off and residents observed two people dressed in all black attempting to break into a car. Schur, who owned the vehicle, confronted them, but they sped away in another stolen vehicle
>Schur followed them and fired several shots at them, striking both of them, because as he initially told police, he had heard gunshots and thought that he was being fired upon although police didn't recover any other weapons from the scene.
>The 14 year old succumbed to his wounds, and the 13 year old was treated and is expected to survive.

CGI is all you get in this life and if you are vaxxed, I know many of you here are well boosted, then the Mars landings will be livestreamed straight into your vaxxed brain.
Also with the latest Neurolink brain processor you'll be able to watch multiple landings at the same time, with the same bitrate and no loss in quality experience.

4chan anon here! I'm wondering why redditors (awesome website btw!) love to write with such fake enthusiasm (not that there's anything wrong with that!) Anyway this is really cool and I don't really have much to say but I'm padding out this comment to imitate the reddit style (which I love so much!)

85 tons according to this random site, not really sure where this dude got the number
wikipedia has 100 tonnes dry mass for starship and 200 tonnes for superheavy and that is from one of the everyday astronaut starbase interviews

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpaceX_Starship
https://everydayastronaut.com/starbase-tour-and-interview-with-elon-musk/

> Musk noted that Super Heavy’s dry mass should be under 200 tonnes, although the dry mass is a moving target.
> With optimizations to design Musk noted that the final dry mass of Super Heavy should be between 160 and 200 tonnes.
> With a full heatshield, S20’s dry mass will “hopefully not be much more than 100 tonnes.”

The first lunar mission in the history of modern Russia: the launch date of the Luna-25 station has been confirmed.
Now the head of the Department of Nuclear Planetology of the Institute of Space Research (ICI) RAS Igor Mitrofanov confirmed to journalists a more precise date: August 11 is considered as the launch date, the reserve date is August 12, 2023.
Meanwhile, Roscosmos continues to share details on preparations for the launch at Vostochny and has published a new photo. Last week, electrical and pneumatic vacuum checks were carried out — the results are positive and without complaints.
The station will be launched into orbit by a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with a Fregat upper stage. The Luna-25 automatic station should work out the soft landing technology, take and analyze the soil and conduct long-term scientific research, study the upper layer of the surface regolith near the South Pole of the Moon and the lunar exosphere.

Let me see if I understand

Starship can deliver 150 tons of anything to LEO. The propellant mass is 1,200 tons. If we add space for 150 tons of fuel to tanks that hold 1,200 tons, it will almost double the volume of the tanks.

tyranny of the rocket equation, etc. Adding more fuel means you need to burn more fuel to reach the same delta V. How much fuel you want to carry to burn is determined by how good your engines are, so that will be fixed. Starship propellant mass is potentially 1200 tons to take 150 tons of cargo/fuel to LEO. You're wrong.
What determines delta-v is mass fraction and isp.
The payload barrel is already there therefore filling it with propellant improves the mass fraction.

Why doesn't spacex just create large hurricanes that reach into low earth orbit? When starship passes through they onboard chemical processing plant extracts the methane and oxygen that they need instead of requiring dangerous and complicated tankers.

>SpaceX expanded really fast with falcon 9, if a company can make a reusable rocket, they can too.
It took eight years for Falcon 9 to become the dominant vehicle on the market, while SpaceX's competitors looked at the rocket it was and realized it would be trouble after about five years of launch activity. Only in the last three years, after significant investments in recovery, landing, and reuse technology has Falcon 9 become the launch industry steamroller it currently is. Other companies are now in the unenviable position of needing to catch up to everything SpaceX already knows how to do immediately and all at once or else they're dead on arrival.

Once it becomes a problem for other nations getting dunked on it will be trivially easy for them to insert diversity hires and scrape the required information. No, ITAR will not stop them since naturalisation requirements are laughable.

My pet theory is that they'll use the sea-level raptors when landing on the moon, as they're less efficient in vacuum; leading to a lesser degree of hole carving in the lunar regolith. Additionally, even if you do somehow carve a hole in the center, since the legs are on the perimeter of the 9m ring, you can still "stabilize" the ship on the outer ring of the lunar regolith due to even distribution of load. Whereas using the 3 RVacs could cause uneven distribution/spread of the lunar regolith during landing.
