There is no point to having an IQ over 133. After that, it starts to become a detriment to your life. Life quality peaks at an IQ of 133. I'm sorry for you if you are any higher.

>The probability of entering and remaining in an intellectually elite profession such as Physician, Judge, Professor, Scientist, Corporate Executive, etc. increases with IQ to about 133. It then falls about 1/3 by 140. By 150 IQ the probability has fallen by 97%!
>For the high IQ person it is a personal tragedy, commonly resulting in unrealized social, educational and productive potential.
>Grady Towers, in his article, 'The Empty Promise' concludes that IQs over 140 add nothing to the academic or career performance of the individual.
>Many people credulously accept that the eminent have very high IQs and that people of ordinary accomplishment have ordinary IQs. For example, it was widely reported that Garry Kasparov has an IQ of 190. In truth, his IQ is verified to be 135. (...)The science does not support either assertion.

I disagree with your graph. Midwits have life much better than a 140 IQ person. They're both not that successful, but the midwit at-least has friends, women, a social life. At-least he can interact with normal people. 140+, life is completely over. You have nothing.

You might be under a false pretense, considering everyone on /sci/ claims to be genuinely IQ tested and having a 140+ IQ. But in reality, an IQ that high is not that common and not normal. It is an abnormality of the brain just like schizophrenia might be, and comes with many comorbidities. Telling an abnormally high IQ person to "just do it, just do good in life, you have a high IQ" is the same as telling a schizophrenic to stop hallucinating.
But 130's is peak though, you are smart enough to do everything you want in life, but not too smart where you are just an abnormal asocial freak.

"It’s a widely held belief that a high IQ score correlates with greater success in life. One reason might be that, overall, the average IQ of employees does actually increase with the complexity of their tasks. And, since complex tasks are generally better rewarded, it seemingly accounts for this success.

However, upon closer inspection, IQ scores don’t account for great performance and success as well as we might think.

Consider, for example, one study conducted on the relationship between sales performance and IQ. They discovered that, when you ask bosses to rate their salespeople, they tend to believe that their more intelligent employees do a better job. However, when the researchers measured intelligence against actual sales results, they found that there was no correlation, thus making intelligence useless as a predictor of sales performance.

And the results of this study aren’t limited to sales performance."

>While increasing IQ, especially over 140, is inversely correlated with elite membership, 140-150 IQ is also characteristic of eminence (Nobelists, Fields Medalists, etc.). (...)The most definitive study was that of Dr. Anne Roe (1952) in which she gave 64 of America's (U.S. born) most eminent scientists an IQ test that ETS had created for that purpose. (...) the test rendered a 15 point ratio IQ and the average IQ of the group was 152. This corresponds to a modern deviation IQ of 144.
>What this suggests is that while an IQ over 140 will decrease the probability of entrance into an elite profession, if the impediment can be overcome, performance within the elite is likely to be superior.
>Over an extensive range of studies and with remarkable consistency, from Physicians to Professors to CEOs, the mean IQ of intellectually elite professions is about 125 and the standard deviationn is about 6.5. For example, Gibson and Light found that 148 members of the Cambridge University faculty had a mean IQ of 126 with a standard deviation of 6.3. The highest score was 139. J.D. Matarazzo and S.G. Goldstein found that the mean IQ of 80 medical students was 125 with a standard deviation of about 6.7. There was one outlier at 149, but the next highest score was 138. This means that 95% of people in intellectually elite professions have IQs between 112 and 138 99.98% have IQs between 99 and 151.
>So, if your IQ is 140 something, the above should serve as a warning that you may be facing related career challenges. If your IQ is over 150, it is a clarion call; without direct intervention, your career prospects are very poor.
So you can enter an "intellectually elite profession" as a midwit. But your high IQ peers will always outperform you if they are allowed to enter as well. The disparity exists only because of Low IQ nepotism barring geniuses from entering elite positions altogether.

IQ is an invalid measure.
The neocortex is the part that actually makes you understand things. The cerebellum is the dumb lizard brain that operates on patterns and categories. The more you use the mammal brain (which can understand) the less you use the lizard brain (which can only make dumb guesses based on statistics). It's simply impossible to convey the enormous depth of understanding that people completely miss.
IQ at best measures your reliance on the primitive brain, which has hardly any correlation with intelligence, as people evolved to be more neocortex based than almost any other animal - on the contrary, those with a poorly functioning neocortex rely on the primitive brain more, and will score higher IQ.

If you have 115, it won't be a walk in the park, but you'll be able to do most of the things you might want to do. The midwit stuff is more about the traps they let themselves fall into due to being somewhat intelligent, but thinking too highly of themselves for listening to science podcasts or watching crash courses. They also accept the state of the world around them too easily and would probably hang around the game room at a tech start-up after their day is done.

You are coping.
Yes, they are normies who'll have social lives because they are not 150 IQ on average, they're like 125 IQ on average. read OP post and this first >>15554556

Here's a study on Mathematicians at OXFORD, where their average IQ was calculated to be 128 (picrel). >https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5008436/
Your average Physicist at a bum university not at Oxford level is going to be even lower.
And here's an excerpt from above link, since I know you're not gonna read it.
>Professional mathematicians usually display high intelligence and good reasoning skills, whereas their calculation skills might be above the average but not necessarily exceptional (Pesenti, 2005). In fact, exceptional calculation skills might be the consequence of an intensive and protract drill, which may become an obsessive–compulsive behavior as in clinical conditions such as Asperger and savant syndrome (Fehr, Weber, Willmes, & Herrmann, 2010).
So you are just wrong. Your Academics are not 150 IQ autists. They will typically fall between 110-140 IQ. Majority of them in the 120-135 range. Which is why they're "le normies". You simply overestimate how high their IQ is.

Many autists will sometimes cope by even posting about how much of a stud Feynman was even though he was a NP winning genius, and that high IQ doesn't stunt you socially. Well, would you know, he wasn't 140+ either?
>An IQ test administered in high school estimated his IQ at 125—high but "merely respectable", according to biographer James Gleick.
Same thing with chess players, as OP mentioned in OP post. People overestimate IQ's of highly acheived people, when in reality, they aren't really that much higher. You are just a useless if you are too high. Just like Langan or Sidis never acheived anything in life. Or even Ted Kaczynski (167 IQ). After a certain point, you're just a socially stunted outlier who has autism and might be looked at as crazy, and chances of success in life are low.

This whole IQ thing is just another thing we choose as a character stat before coming here anyway according to NDErs. So who cares about IQ if it is premortally chosen?

And NDEs are more real than this world, in every way. For instance, NDErs report expanded intelligence. One NDEr said that the greatest supergenius who ever lived, with the help of the greatest supercomputer of all time, would be immeasurably dwarfed by the intelligence she had access to while in the light, so much so that it would be closer and fairer to compare the intelligence of Einstein to that of an ant. Literally and seriously. And as another NDEr described their cognition during their life review:

>"I looked up, and saw four translucent screens begin to appear - and form a kind of gigantic, cubed box all around me. It was through this method that I was shown my life review. Without ever having to turn my head, I panoramically saw my past, present, future - and there was even a screen behind me that displayed a tremendous amount of scientific data, numbers, symbols and universal codes. I was in complete amazement because (as all of this was occurring) I realized I understood absolutely everything I was seeing - even in the most microscopic detail! There seemed to be no limit to the thoughts I was able to think or the ideas I was able to absorb. In this space, what we tend to think of as a limited comprehension or single-mindedness here on Earth, becomes truly infinite and limitless here! I kept thinking over and over how true it is what they say: that when we go back home - we all really are of one mind!"

From here: https://youtu.be/U00ibBGZp7o

Another way NDEs are more real is how one NDEr said that he saw more than 80 new primary colors in the NDE world, compared to the 3 primary colors we have here.

From here: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mysteries-consciousness/202204/does-afterlife-obviously-exist

So heaven is undeniably real and we all have infinite IQ there.

Since the bell curve was shifted an entire SD upwards back then, the average high-school teach would've been as smart as today's university lecturer. Just imagine what they could've done with today's technology.

The rest of it makes sense. Although I don't know the stats, I presume there were proportionally just as many teachers back then as professors today (Less schools back then, more colleges today). So they had a better pool of teaching-oriented folk to choose from for teaching as not as many could become professors. But now, people that would have been in the mines back then have to be inducted as teachers as well because of the amount of them needed. While actually qualified "teachers" just become professors because the amount of seats open.
>Around the 1870s the IQ was 15 points higher than today.
This doesn't make sense. Average IQ is always 100 by definition. And it is harder to get a hundred today than it was ever before. See the Flynn effect. So they likely had Lower IQs than us.
