My initial doubt is only that a biology professor would be fired for teaching chromosomes.
Based on "rate my professors" he seems to generally have a good reputation, but a couple ratings from as early as 2017 say that he retaliated against a class because of complaints of his behavior. While he seems to be generally a good professor based on older ratings, it's also never surprising to see a person fall deeper into angry dogma nowadays.
The fact that the law firm is really pushing defense of his religious views doesn't inspire confidence.
