modern physics is more concerned with that sort of question than with finding elegant ways to do things. Why the hell would they want to make their work easier? That would just make it easier for someone else to do their job. We can't have that because are already over-"educating" physicists (really just handing out more insect degrees to increase headcount and get more funding).

The job of a mathematician is to simplify, also that of a physicst but they honestly suck
