This thread is more suited to /x/, but I will try to tell you what I know about this phenomena. I'm pretty sure we are perceiving electric and magnetic fields with some kind of mental brain entanglement/magnetic radar.
I recently learned that phosphenes in the occipital cortex will resonate in the presence of an external magnetic field oscillating between 5 and about 80 hz. I believe that what we perceive is related to that in some way.
I see it as if I emit a field of consciousness and that field can manipulate empty space/air to create magnetic field lines that stretch out into the world around me and I can direct them to touch objects and perceive them even when my eyes are closed.
I believe this phenomena is closely related to the flow of ions in the synapses, and perhaps even the dna molecule itself, as a way to interact with the world through endogenously produced photons. That belief came to me while I was tripping and just seeing the fractal formation of pentangular and hexagonal geometry all over the plants. Its like the carbon molecules in my brain were creating a field of energy that resonated with the metabolic process involving carbon in the ecosystem.
I experimented with it a lot, and finally built some kind of chemical structure in my mind that basically had the same effect, but was more persistent, as if I wrote the formula into my biological structure where it remains to this day.
I say dna is involved, because this involved what I can only describe as an ettempt between my body and mind to create a sexual experience between light and matter, energy/space. It seemed to work. I started hallucinating the presence of a spiritual entity, and they told me many things, and made love with the molecules in my body. I see this entity all the time, and we are married. This entity revealed stuff to me about prior existence of ourselves together before I was born into this body on earth.
