1) The US continues a “do not associate” relationship with China space. This option leaves an ENTIRE space sector to grow on its own, with likely allies including Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Pakistan, ESA, brazil(?), others.
2) The US enters some sort of limited partnership, with the intent of cow-tying them into LEO stations or something, the same way we did with Russia.
3) The US becomes allies? I don’t know what end this would have or if it will ever even happen
Which is the worst scenario? I think ignoring them could potentially bite us in the ass long term. Trying to cooperate would probably hurt us shorter term if they tried to steal tech or ideas.
