Biden admin has been doing everything they can to stop Musk from all of his companies. FTC just recently requested entire communications data from Elon Musk along with twitters contact with journalists. As well as doing background checks on those journalists.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMDjfP1gk60

You should watch the entire thing. The gaslight is intense. This just happened earlier today.

Biden's FDA stopped Neuralink recently. They have dozens of lawsuits against Tesla. They have stopped Boring Company from expanding in California. They revoked the FCC subsidies for Starlink a year prior.

it started way before this recent drama. Musk was the only billionare that refused to pay tribute to politicians coffers in the form of "donations" during elections, including Biden. That and his preferential treatment by orange Hitler administration is what got him on the shit list with Bidens group. Finally there is the religious-ideological dimension in him being the most successful african immigrant in US which pisses all over the woke cultists

it sucks too as there really is not alternative on the globe where to set up a base of operation that is conductive of such pioneer industry. Everybody else is a jungle of bureaucracy with too many seats at the table like the EU. Or lawless kleptocratic dictatorships that will just steal you blind like all the turd worlders examplified by Russia. Or lure you in with sweet temptation only to steal you blind once you are settled in and then throw you out (China).

Outside the US maybe Australia would be the best candidate for fledgling space industry political and military stability wise. Even then you have to lure the competent engineers with you over to the outback which is a gargantuan task in on itself.

>Is it a millipede, or a rock? The ‘evidence’ we’ve already found life on Mars

>Group of academics say they have identified fossilised sponges, corals, worm eggs, algae and more on planet's surface
>The scientists believe they have spotted fossilised sponges, corals, worm eggs, algae, fungi, lichen, shrimp, crabs, sea spiders, scorpions, the tell-tale green glow of living cyanobacteria, and yes, even a translucent millipede, on the surface.
>“We have photos of fungi growing out of the ground, increasing in size, increasing in number, as based on sequential images,” said Dr Rudolph Schild of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, speaking on behalf of the researchers.
>He added: “We have published photos of cyanobacteria growing. We have photos of an unusual specimen that may have been in a hole and two days later is outside the hole. Is that proof?
>One of the new papers, published in Applied Cell Biology, argues that semi-transparent cocoon-like eggs have been spotted, less than a millimetre in diameter with a single hole at one end, some of which appear to have “non identifiable specimens” exiting and entering.
>All the authors of the recent papers are convinced that fossil evidence proved life once existed on Mars, although not all are in agreement there are still multiple lifeforms thriving today.

The Jewish population of Germany through about the 1930s was pretty well integrated in the country. A concerted effort and a lot of national propaganda was required to convince the broader public that "The Jewish Problem" was a thing that could exist. There is opportunity for interesting additional perspectives in there, beyond "the Jews were undeserving victims," with respect to the mechanisms that were used to play up and convince the population that something needed to be done to be rid of them when there wasn't a lot to latch on to, but frankly, I don't think the powers that be want people to notice and understand state propaganda as part of their public education.

lel mate, you must be a zoomer. The "laser-focus on Mars" is like step 3 of the usual 4 step NASA tango. It's a well studied dance at this point. The other steps are shit like "focus on near-Earth to make space commercial", "focus on the Moon to get a convenient base and continue the legacy", "focus on Mars because this is the only thing that gets people that care about space excited", "focus on rovers or some other irrelevant red herring shit".

>Spacecraft engine manufacturer and small rocket builder Astra announced on Friday that the company is investigating “potential illegal short selling” among shareholders of its common stock.
>The announcement comes as Astra faces a delisting deadline issued by the Nasdaq last year. With shares at 47 cents as of Friday’s open, Astra has until April 4 for its stock price to return above $1 a share for at least ten consecutive business days, or it would receive a Nasdaq delisting notice. If that happens, Astra is able to appeal the delisting before a Nasdaq hearings panel.
>Astra is expected to report fourth-quarter results after market close on Mar. 30.

>Two pumps, one methane one LOx. Single gas generator, the split ducting you see feeds each turbine (there is turbine stack each pump). It’s fuel rich cycle in main chamber, pretty much all engines are, ox-rich is only for preburners in full flow or ORSC engines. Aeon R has beastly pumps because it’s really high power and thrust density - for the thrust class of 258,000 pound thrust, actually quite small and dense. But pump power goes up fairly dramatically with increases in chamber pressure. It’s a pretty high performing and efficient GG cycle engine, I think it will be among the best. This is Block 1, Block 2 already in build and looks quite a bit more compact lots of new hardware for that iteration. Planning out to Block 6 already actively. This will be a very high iteration rate engine given almost all of it is 3D printed.

why go public in the first place? usually much easier to get funding as stock is much more liquid, gives the founders and employees also an easy way to turn some stock into cash
also not uncommon for the early stage VC funders to finally cash out at that point and go onto fund some new startups

having to just worry about the instruments when you design a satellite is going to make it much easier and probably cheaper if its not something mass manufactured

Okay? Artists not having careers has nothing to with how fast they can pump out new art, but non-existing consumer demand because there are a million more helpful and useful things to spend time/money on.

Art's value has nothing to do with production. How interesting the artist is and what they are able to convey through some kind of medium is more important

PFOF is not front running, executed trades offer price improvement over NBBO, except maybe Robinhood who are genuinely crooks.
>Some of the even bigger players also make a point of being on both sides of a trade so they make money betting against their customers
I can't even imagine how this works in your head.
>Hurr durr then why pay for order flow
Every retail investor is net inefficient compared to the market, if you take an aggregate of retail investors and simply bet against them blindly regardless of what trades they make you make money on average, since they do not know more about the underlying ideal price than the market.
>HFT creates no value da joos are taking my money!
Correctly pricing goods is valuable, you benefit by being able to trade securities at an efficient price.

>This scenario is guided by the immense technological complexity for creating an actual guided ASAT – seen as the high-mark of Space Weaponization threats, and which has been largely rejected as a plausible Space Terrorist scenario (Coleman, 2017; Bernat, 2019). As an alternative, a relatively crude and low-tech solution has been substituted using a SCUD-like ballistic missile, seeking to create a set of bursts in Space presenting an indiscriminate threat to the Earth’s Satellite Layer (Miller, 2019). This is based on the following scenario:
>However, it should be noted that a low-tech scenario for satellite tracking was demonstrated in the 1950s, in the United States, that:

“proved that this required only a minimal technology approach: amateur satellite observers used stopwatches, sky maps, personal computers and sometimes binoculars to determine satellites’ orbital elements. Hence, tracking can be done using common and inexpensive electronics with minimal training. This is in line with U.S. Undersecretary of State Robert Joseph’s concern about non-governmental satellite observers tracking satellites and posting their orbits on the internet, which can possibly … [be]… used by terrorist organizations.” (Remuss, 2009)

So uhm... who wants to do some space terrorism and learn how to track satellites and launch ASAT weapons?

In minecraft of course.

Assuming he's talking about the lightbulb video, the mistake is that it was framed in a way that communicated correct information that nobody who didn't already have that same correct information in context would understand.
>If you have a switch that isn't a switch, a lightbulb that isn't a lightbulb, and a wire that isn't a wire it will behave in ways that you TOTALLY won't expect!
If your goal is to explain electricity, you should add back in the complexity so that it correctly models the real world, not try and shock your audience with an unituitive scenario and then leave it hanging there as some kind of explanatory own. The fact that a fields propagate through a vacuum at a speed equal to the cosmological constant and that the motion of an electric field induces a current is totally obvious to anyone who has taken even an introductory physics course. What is NOT intuitive is how it behaves, and trying to circle back around and mask this intuitive fact that everyone knows by restating it in a way that is wholly UNinituitive by describing a system that would not behave in that way at all if it did not have totally different properties from what we would expect is absolutely atrocious science communication.
