Every type of energy is subsidized to some degree or another. "Fossil" fuel subsidies are some of the least costly compared to their economic input.

>Fossil" fuel subsidies are some of the least costly compared to their economic input.

There is absolutely no way you could call a subsidized industry economic.

The only reason they're cheap is because our taxes made them that way

Oil, gas and coal are not subsidized. Oil, gas and coal are what creates any wealth anyone ever had.
The alleged subsidies are not real and amount to imaginary unpaid taxes that librals say energy companies should pay even if they are not mandated to do so by any law.

>> No.15220561

>>15220449
You cant really "buy" oil, gas and coal. They are free. Each time you "pay" for gas you are getting free money, 1$ of gas equals $100 in your pocket.

Oil is the only reason you have any money. Its basically free money because it makes possible the creation of wealth 100 times larger than the pittance you pay at the pump. Without oil you would pay 0 taxes because you would be dead, so it can't be subsidized, oil subsidizes you. Oil should be 20 times more expensive and it would still be basically free money.

Long term it's neither profitable nor stable.

Banking is more stable, especially if all the locals refuse to compete. Instant monopoly for lotsa profit

Venezuelan oil industry belongs to the government. Are you saying the government of venezuela subsidizes itself?
Like, the government of Venezuela takes money from the government of Venezuela and gives it to the government of Venezuela?

Yes, It's exactly what I'm saying.
You can't use tax money to subsidize a dying industry.

That's not how the free market works

OIl is free, the more you buy the wealthier you are. The price doesnt matter because money isnt real but energy is, and a society rich in energy is physically rich so you can have manufacture and transport. Subsidies, taxes and price are fake electronic numbers at some bank, in real life theres only supply of energy.

Maybe they just stopped subsidizing them in a narrow sense of the word to fool the normies.
They can just indirectly subsidize them by subsidizing anything else which saves people money that they then use to buy the "unsubsidized" fossil fuel.
They can also "subsidize" them by the way they structure trade deals.

Anytime the government appears to be taking an action for the good of whatever ideological cause at the expense of economics or any other tangible the powerful care about, you always need to check if there is a way they left available to effectively undo the effects of the action.

There are usually many parallel paths between any two points in the circuit.
They stick a resistor in one of the paths to win your praise then divert flow to any of the parallel paths to continue business as usual.
