15141941 No.15141941 [Reply] [Original]

Have you thought about what humanity could achieve scientifically if people were wiser and not so stupid?

For example, imagine if every person on earth took the money that they were going to use for gambling (which is pretty pointless thing to use your money anyway) and donated it to NASA or something. For ten years, all the eight billion people would donate their gambling money to one pot of money.

Can you imagine how mind bogglingly huge amount of money that would be? You could build a city on mother***kin Pluto with that kind of money. You could build a telescope more advanced than JWST twenty times the price. And yet it goes to waste and makes life more miserable.

According to a statistic I saw on the internet, my home country (Finland) apparently earned 361 million euros last year from gambling alone. That means that on average every citizen spends about 60 euros a year for gambling (possibly even more if you take into account the kinds of gambling that don't produce money for the state). So in ten years, that would be 3.61 billion dollars from Finland alone in my imaginary thought experiment. I can't even begin to imagine how much it would be from USA which is famous for having casinos all over the place.

There's the earnings but also the time as well. You can imagine what that collective time investment directed towards something else might achieve. There's no reason Finland couldn't have its own space program, for instance.

Yes people being less stupid would help. Governments not spending so much money on junk and themselves and putting it into research instead would probably help a lot more. Those things aren't going to change though any time soon. What could change soon if they wanted it to is for the people deciding what to research (professors and other research labs etc) to research actually important things instead of useless or extremely low priority crap. This science crowdfunding website gives some insight into things some scientists think are important
https://experiment.com/discover
More than half the projects are the most low priority junk that it's no surprise they don't get funding from other avenues and have to turn to crowdfunding

You mention the words "objective observation." Using this so-called "objective observation" based upon your intuitive definition of it, you and I can conclude that 1) the world is not in utopia, 2) there are plenty of problems in the world and 3) scientific achievements are need to to solve those problems. Your own article says that its metallicity was vastly overestimated.
In any case, maybe look up the most expensive materials, and ask yourself if they would still be worth as much, if thousands of tonnes of it was dumped into the market.
Did you hear about the concept of offer and demand in the free market?
Anyway, if that wasn't bad enough, bringing all that material back to earth, the sheer expense of that outweighs any other consideration.
Also, there is no raw resource shortage of anything. It's all media hype.
And lastly, when a resource becomes so scarce to the point of needing to look to asteroids, a team of scientists will be put to find a replacement material, and build from that. Case closed.

https://interestingengineering.com/science/asteroid-psyche-700-quintillion
NASA is already planning on visiting the asteroid to make sure.
Either way, it's not about how much material we can bring back to Earth.
Even if the prices for materials dropped (like platinum and gold), that would mean we could find MORE uses for them, like having more gold in all of electric components, making them more efficient, and thus finding even better technological advancements along the way.
If we can process these materials in space, and send them to the Moon and Mars, then we could use those materials there as well, like iron/steel, to create habitats on those celestial bodies.
https://astronomy.com/news/2020/08/ceres-an-ocean-world-in-the-asteroid-belt
Cere's is expected to have more water on it than the entire planet of Earth. If we were to mine that too, we'd have enough water (and potentially fuel) to power civilization on other bodies as well.

Yes, I AGREE that asteroid mining is very difficult, but it wouldn't be if we stopped wasting money on welfare/poor people, and instead focused those resources into space-related industry.

Humans pump an enormous amount of CO2 into the atmosphere which is causing global warming. We need to outright ban oil and fossil fuels at this point. And yes, that means you don't get your own car and will use public transportation, hick.

>What problems are they causing?
They have a hatred for evolution, which evolves (lol) into a general ideology against genetic modification in general, and at the most extreme ends, there are people who outright believe that old faggots like George Soros and Klaus Schuab are enacting a globalized plan called "the great reset" wherein we will merge our biological and digital forms into a transhuman man.

The problem is, this is a good thing, and we want to merge our biology and technology into a new form of man. The resistance to this is anti-human and immoral, and must be purged from the earth.

Nope. Female biased sexual size dimorphism is the future. This has nothing to do with pedophilia.
Pic related is a little exaggerated but you should be able to see why it is ideal, biologically and physically speaking.

>Your entire basis of their subordination was their lack of morality
Nope.

>So how have you practiced what you preach
I don't preach anything.

> if you train people to hate the government on that basis, you are training them to hate you, they will be able to overthrow you
Your meds. NOW. You're genuinely not making any sense anymore.

>With the very low level psychology manipulations you are attempting
Is it going to make someone who doesn't already hate you go like "hmm, yeah, maybe I should stomp this guy"?

Just pointing out how disgusting and subhuman your own actions are by your standards and by all third parties who are observing, so that when you actually get the courage to "take out the trash" after realizing that you can't motivate people around you to do it for you, you will know to just start with yourself instead of some hard to reach government agent.

He asked me a question that seems superficially valid but is, in fact, fundamentally idiotic. I essentially advised him to reflect on the nature of what he's asking. It went far, far over your head and you will chimp out over it now. Nice.

Why are you lashing out like a chimp? Is it hard to come to terms with the fact that I and many others don't think your life has any moral value? Were you brought up on the ideal that you can embody every ill under the sun and still be a precious, special snowflake that deserves protection and moral consideration? Did I ruin your fantasy?

That amount of money is nothing compared to foreign aid spent on dirt farmers who fuck faster than they farm and unlicensed urban pharmacists whose care and upbringing is all paid for by the state. You could say it's unfair to demand the poor pay for their own children, but the money spent on them is money that people who actually contribute to society can't spend on their own children.
