Scientifically speaking, what would be the most realistic Earth ending event to happen in the next 20 years? Secondly, what is the likely hood of a solar flare event?

Magnetic pole reversal or collapse.
Solar ejections
Gamma ray burst from other solar system.
Viruses
Aliens

Trannies run amok. Or Jesus decides to start shit over.

The only candidates in the next 20 years for something earth-ending is shit we cannot at all predict or see coming like vacuum metastability events, a rogue BH, or a GRB.
Life-ending, ditto.
Human civilization ending, nuclear war. And even that's still a big maybe. Only other risk to human civilization is a freak mutation of a pathogen, or "2 weeks" being real.

>realistic Earth ending event
Your question is not clear. Ending all human life, all life, totally destroying the earth into pieces? To totally "end" the earth the only possibility is a gigantic asteroid or the sun explodes. What else is big enough to destroy the whole earth? If you are asking about some type of catastrophic event that kills say 90% of all life, then its an asteroid, gamma ray burst, or massive volcanic eruption where dust blocks the sun and the earth freezes.

I think this is the most likely.
