I think the rona did this place in. I've been here for around a decade now, and it was always shit. But there were always some interesting people too.
I came here when i was first trying to construct a home lab, and was having trouble designing the air flow with the hea filters, as physics is by no means my experties. I made a therad, 9/10 answers were calling me a retarded faggot or telling me how to make posion gas as a "fun experiment". On anon helped me out, with some decent advice.
From then on, whenever a thread came up where i knew something about the topic, i tried to answer. Mostly chemistry, biolog,y biochem, and later genetics, now i'm a researcher working on ageing... i try to post when i can. But the threads about this kind of thing has become few and far between. Anything related to actual science has become sparce.
During the rona we had an influx of retarded maga people taaling about ivermectin and demons. And this place never recovered.
Now the same is happening to /k/ which sucks.
And even /pol/ was a fun place before 2015 or so.
Now we are in a place where /pol/ are anti nazi, /sci/ is anti science, and /k/ is starting to get bored of a european war, because of all the shilling.
