Explainable in terms of how and why they occur, but that's not what you asked. You asked what they "are".

The same as Justice, Mercy, Loyalty. It's a word. A dream. It's not a physical or elemental thing as much as it is what we define it to mean. These things didn't exist before the dawn of human consciousness. But they do now. They're lies we tell ourselves, but believing in them is how they become reality.

Do not ask; "What is love". Instead ask "What do I want love to be?"

It says to fear God is to hate evil and fearing God seems like it is highly recommended.
