What books explain plane trigonometry from the axioms of plane geometry? I don't want to read Euclid's elements but I also want to understand it all.

Gelfands book is okayish. Also every other Algebra/Trigonometry/Precalculus book will do

Doesn't look like it's what I'm looking for.

Not really. Most of those books don't even start from first principles, they just assume the cartesian co-ordinate system, Pythagoras's theorem, several facts about triangles and angles.

Patrick Barry's "Geometry with Trigonometry".
>I don't want to read Euclid's elements but I also want to understand it all.
There are no royal roads to geometry, you little fucker.
Go worship Euclid. Even Newton did it.

There is one, Anon, but its straight and narrow.

Looks promising. Relies on set theory a little too much for my liking though.

I know, I know, I just need something a little shorter. Was trying to skip to only the parts I need to understand trig so I can feel better about calculus. I'm not supposed to be this ignorant of trig but I unfortunately am.

Yes. You're autistic and don't understand how reasoning works. Logic and rigor is a shitcheck you engage in after taking unjustified leaps to something that seems to "just werk".
Nobody actually invents anything from first principles, so it doesn't make sense to learn anything from first principles.

I don't care faggot. My mind needs better justification than "it just works". I don't care if it's not technically first principals either, you can doubt the parallel postulate all you want but if it sounds good to me and is simple enough, I'll accept it; so long as it isn't just,

Okay, so you're a delusional narcissist. You shouldn't be having this much trouble.
Have you tried drawing a circle, you know, ever?

Pick up Looney's plane trigonometry. They justify that the ratio of the circumference to the diameter is always the same and that radians are always the same by referencing Euclid. Sorry sweety, but you don't find that in your average textbook.
