<NO SCHIZOS ALLOWED>

Seriously, all shizo-name fags go back to that other thread, this is for normal people only

<NO SCHIZOS ALLOWED!>

Let's discuss Roger Penrose and his findings. Also called theories in science world.

I have been following this guy since last year, got introduced to elegant CCC hypothesis by him, watched probably dozens of interviews of him. But since the first video I became very immersed and felt that he is closer to the truth than Einstein or anyone else ever was. The truth of the Nature of our Universe and its "birth".

Your "feelings" are irrelevant and not science or math

>> No.15058334

So, to me, as a layman (not a scientists, just someone interested in astronomy and how universe came to be) the theory of RP seems very elegant explanation. It makes sense that photons eventually lose "sense of time", and since there is no time, there is no big or small, and by definition, the vastness of universe could be considered as tiny as a planck unit and eventually quantum fluctuations create another big bang. And thus to infinity. Though I do not believe in infinities in a strict sense.

That's fair, but feelings were created by the universe and thus they are as valid as science here. Prove me wrong.

I cringed so hard I almost died from sudden onset cringeitis. It's a shame because I like the CCC and Sir Dr Mr Penrose

Why is that? Was CCC confusing to you? To me, as not a scientist, it seemed quite simple and elegant.

He hasn't found anything. He has some wild ideas and none of them have been proven.

Imho, science(space fiction) and religion are both destructive for healthy life, because they ruin critical thinking, essential for building successful life. All those movies and books you read about space, galaxies, dimensions, etc, make you torn from reality, which is your life. Instead of earning more money and buy property for yourself, children, relatives, to make their lives better, you soar in dreams about galaxies or jesus. Money and wellbeing should be the only god, science and one and only meaningful sense of life. Education is creating slaves for corporate industry.

Penrose is right in that consciousness is not just computational complexity
But his whole microtubule theory is kinda sussy and he seems to have a tenuous grasp of neuroscience

I also think, microtuble theory is intriguing but lacking more substance, not unlike CCC which is just elegant explanation of birth of universe.

Multiverse theory is most likely bs so I'm with Sir Roger and Sabine on that one. That said, one the more interesting theories that may potentially be correct (imho ofc) is Wolfram's hypergraph universe. He is yet to prove some groundbreaking stuff though he had already proven that his system/calculations are compatible with GR. He also claims that there's no inherent incompatibility between GR and QT, and if you listen to his explanation it kind of makes sense. To me, it also appears to make sense in a way that everything in our world is a product of emergent complexity (quarks, particles, atoms, molecules... life, conscious observer) so why wouldn't it be so that all of that emerged from the simplest possible units (nodes and graphs)? Afaik though he's not the only person with similar theories i.e. theories that emphasize the essence of irreducible points and the relationship between them.
