How do I change my handwriting so that it looks more mathematically respectable? I want people to look at my handwrittten math notes and think, based on the style alone (not substance), "Yeah, this genius is going places."
Any penmanship courses or something? Do you guys use G-2 gel pens, fountain pens, or what?

the worse the handwriting, the more genius-like you will appear.
Also probably would not hurt being actually good in mathematics....

Download the spencerian penmanship workbook. Either print it or divide the pages of a composition book of yours. Make every exercise and there you go.
You can do it with a gel pen, but if you were to buy a fountain pen like a lamy it would be better.

I just bought the metropolitan medium nib, amazing pen.
I think all that matter is that you care, you already have got that figured out. The number one reason for having bad handwriting is being apathetic towards it. I used to have bad handwriting as well, but a few weeks after I started caring, I got pretty.

I don't suggest this. Palmer, Spencerian, etc., are all meant for long stretches of letters, but in math you are mostly dealing with singular symbols. They also encourage using arm movement, which is not useful for math.

I learnt to write in a proper cursive, after that you can change angles, grips and style.
My notes for instance look very much like

Print is too slow and tiring on the wrist. Learning to use combined movement increases your stamina enormously. I use to lay back during lectures and write notes with my whole arm movement when I'm out of focus. It's the method not the writing itself.

make sure no one can read what you've written not even yourself

You cannot change your handwriting. That's why glowies can use AI to identify and track you by your writing.

Use your mathematical skills to figure out which font is statistically the most used in the most well regarded professional peer reviewed math papers and start training your handwriting to match that font.

I find it hard to believe arm writing can be used to write math comfortably. Can you show what your math handwriting looks like?

print out math equations from latex, put a transparent paper on and practice with that.
