What are the implications of being able to recognise you have psychosis and reason your way out of it? I was tapering off antipsychotics and after my last dose I started getting delusions. I was able to recognise that they were untrue without medication and reason my way out of them. I also started thinking about my past beliefs and realised that a lot of things I had believed in even while medicated and not considered to be displaying psychotic symptoms were illogical, I now realise that /x/ tier ideas like alien races, twin flames, synchronicities, occultism have no evidential basis and are a waste of time.
Is it unusual for those with schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder to be able to recognise and overcome their delusions without antipsychotics?

Why is it counterclockwise? It should be clockwise in the north.

Why do you always post pictures of your face? Is it narcissism?

you're just consciously recognizing your own faults. Our mental health/being is a train of thoughts that veers in any direction at any given time and we are in control of that train and for the most part what direction it heads is up to us as long as we recognize and pay attention to where its going and what the acceptable emotion situation calls for. Your mind, the thinking you that's reading this in your head right now is like a big man riding ontop of a miniature train but we can control where the tracks go. As long as we can control ourselves emotionally and physically, know what is reality and what is false then everything else doesn't matter.

Also make sure you're not just deficient in vitamin B6. I couldn't give you a definite answer on what's reality, I'm prisoner inside my own skull.

Your pic suggests you’re into Gnosticism. There isn’t a perfect dimension outside our universe that a ‘demiurge’ is keeping us away from. Delusional

>demiurge
That's it though, I don't believe in religion or traditionalism. Sure there is scientifically considered a god out there somewhere but the conscious me isn't going to be on that level to prove or disprove it and live to tell about it in this world.

All I'm saying is that as long as you can keep track of which page in the book is reality then the other experiences are just meaningless entertainment to those who pay attention to what direction their mind is swinging.

True psychosis is when you can reason yourself out of it but still remain in psychotic state.

Psychosis is dependant on their being delusions present and I am not experiencing that or hallucinations and disorganised thoughts.

if you think that trying to prove to strangers on the internet that your hallucinations are real or have real qualities means psychosis is present, then I would say that childish tricks adopted by communists and totalitarians are relevant to the discussion

I think you’re reading comprehension needs some work, all I said was that the symptoms of psychosis are delusions, hallucinations, disorganised thoughts. I did not say anything I experienced was real. I am not experiencing these symptoms now as I was able to reason my way out of them without antipsychotics.

Of course psychosis exists. It’s an observed set of symptoms.

So psychosis exists as a list of symptoms used for diagnostic? The carceral product of medical institutions?

It's not unusual to recognize delusions and remember past ones while still on a waning effect from the antipsychotics. It happens to people who frequently forget to take their meds.
You should at least consider the risk of it being more of an in-between state until the next real psychotic episode. Instead of simply stopping your treatment, maybe it's a good time to ask for a lower dosage.
