https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonfly_(spacecraft)#Landing_site
>The Dragonfly rotorcraft will land initially in dunes to the southeast of the Selk impact structure at the edge of the dark region called Shangri-La.[47][6] It will explore this region in a series of flights of up to 8 km (5.0 mi) each, and acquire samples from compelling areas with a diverse geography. After landing it will travel to the Selk impact crater, where in addition to tholin organic compounds, there is evidence of past liquid water.[6]
>The Selk crater is a geologically young impact crater 90 km (56 mi) in diameter, located about 800 km (500 mi) north-northwest of the Huygens lander.[48] (7.0°N 199.0°W)[49][46] Infrared measurements and other spectra by the Cassini orbiter show that the adjacent terrain exhibits a brightness suggestive of differences in thermal structure or composition, possibly caused by cryovolcanism generated by the impact — a fluidized ejecta blanket and fluid flows, now water ice.[48][50] Such a region featuring a mix of organic compounds and water ice is a compelling target to assess how far the prebiotic chemistry may have progressed at the surface.[6]

Shift the goalposts to be about specific SpaceX accomplishments compared to other companies. Emphasize that SpaceX has been quantifiably more successful at building good rockets than everyone else. There are adequate statistics to support this. If he deflects then ask him to state explicitly that he recognizes SpaceX is more successful and beneficial to the US/space than almost any other company. If he rejects this then ask him to back his claim with specific evidence (which doesn't really exist). If he accepts it and just says something something Elon bad then tell him he's not being objective and to fuck off back to kindergarten.

I understand the materials science aspect. When you need thermal insulation and light mass, you’re going to end up with brittle materials. But taking a mass hit would be worth it for bolt-on metallic tiles. Or at the very least some hybrid system. The ability to install a TPS in the factory and literally never needing to worry about it again would be a huge advantage over ceramic tiles. Starship has already made huge improvements with a) common (enough) shapes and low cost/fast production tiles—and yes you can send thousands and thousands of extra tiles to mars or keep spare tiles in the cargo hold of each SS—however I’m willing to bet each crewed SS is fling to require inspection before entry every single time and broken tiles are going to remain a common problem

I actually was able to convince a tankie that Elon isn't so bad and SpaceX is good by having a series of conversations with him. The first place you start is to appeal to their hatred of corporations and corrupt government officials and only talk about those things.

- Talk about how ULA (Boeing/Lockheed - explain this to them) is actively stymying space exploration all in the name of pork.
- Talk about specific individuals (Ballast, Shelby, Cantwell)
- Bring up the billion dollar tower that never got built but still needs to be built
- Talk about the cost and time overruns of SLS despite the reuse of tech
- Mention the F-1b engines to drive it home
- Point out how SpaceX was precluded from bidding on contracts, repeatedly and was to sue for the opportunity
- Mention how SpaceX is the only way astronauts can get to the ISS now, despite Starliner receiving more money and being several years late (mention the failures).
- Discuss how Elon actually in charge of the company on a day to day basis and micromanages (point to Berger's book and talk about it contains firsthand accounts from former and current employees who do not deny this, even if they don't like him)
- Talk about how Elon wanted to go to Mars from square one with his goal to launch a probe to the planet with a micro greenhouse but was denied this opportunity when the Russians said no and NASA said no.
- Talk about how they are saving the government millions and millions of dollars a year, which NASA should be allowed to reinvest into more science but can't due to the likes of Bezos and ULA (Boeing/Lockheed) using political pressure to dictate how and where NASA is allowed to spend money (not on science)
- Talk about how virtually every company and country has been forced to copy the Falcon 9 and adopt rapid reuse or perish
- Compare the number of Starship samples that have been constructed versus SLS and hone in on the time it took to do this.
- Point out the massive waste of SLS a lot.

SLS/Orion has been in "development" for 20+ years, NASA has spent $40+ billion dollar so far, hasn't developed anything new, and is just using old technology from Shuttle, is not reusable, can only fly once every 2 years, costs $4+ billion dollars each time, etc.

SpaceX's entire existence didn't cost 10th of that in R/D.

Think about it, NASA is going to waste two decades fucking around the Moon. And by fucking around I mean launching, at best, one mission a year, building Gateway (that nobody really needs). Just say that their complacency has led to a situation where the science, rocketry, environmental monitoring, and space exploration that NASA is meant to do cannot do them so long as Lockheed Martin and Boeing continue to siphon off the majority of NASA's budget. You need to control the argument and if they get mad at Musk, just posit the scenario where Lockheed Martin (one of the largest arms manufacturers on the planet) is allowed to hollow out an institution because it doesn't actually want to do the work it is paid to do, and SpaceX doesn't. And if they genuinely believe that SpaceX is more evil than fucking Lockheed Martin all because Elon says mean things on Twitter. You just need to point out the hypocrisy.

If you can take in the entirety of an object from its form and gain nothing from a closer look, it's shit.

Nice to know the ISS has reached a point where spacewalks are no longer necessary. You'd think that would have been bigger news

It has only just begun, and anyone who views the ISS from a telescope like >>14971881 will be able to track the addition of each new solar array that NASA said they added and showed via live stream of the spacewalks, undeniable proof the ISS exists and spacewalks are real

But that wont stop conspiracy tards and flat earthers from coming up with their own delusional dismissals

Anyways 3 spacewalks left this year alone
