How do you determine the intelligence of a fellow man?

>> No.1495453

Well if he has a Ph. D. in Mathematics, I know I'm among my peers.

Give them two minutes to write down as many words as they that start with F and end with M. If they have more than 15 words at the end of two minutes, their intelligence is honorable.

I judge based on their ability to maintain a conversation on whatever topic is relevant.

Their people who just ask random and specific questions to test intelligence, and then deem the person stupid when they do not know the answer, bug the hell out of me.

I agree on the conversation and on your second point: I hate when some douche asks someone an obscure question and then assumes the high ground when they don't know what the answer is. Congratulations, faggot, you just revealed yourself as a paper-thin fuckmook with an ego that far outweighs your intelligence.

The problem with a question like that is that not everybody is going to be interested specifically in Demonology, or any other specific interest you can come up with. There are many very intelligent mathematicians, for example, who may not know anything about religion, but are still intelligent in their own right.

As for the OP question, I do not think there is any one question or means you can use to determine somebodies intelligence short of asking them to take an IQ test.

>> No.1495881

if they have an open mind to new idea's. i consider intelligence different to being smart, and more often then not if your open to new idea's then you are more knowledgeable and 'smart'

>> No.1495893

One can only judge the intelligence of those very, very close to oneself. For example, I feel confident in being able to roughly gauge the intelligence of my best friend, my significant other, and some of my family members, in relation to my own intelligence. However, I can't judge the intelligence of someone whom I've just met, or someone who is only an acquaintance.

I judge the intelligence of those close to me based on... Their actions, words, choices, behavior, ability to comprehend, etc.

>> No.1495944

i've been thinking of making up a practical intelligence test. it wouldn't be like any i've ever seen. i think most people would fail. bell curves. how do they work.
