The brain is constantly analyzing inputs, attempting to make connections between things and trying to find danger to increase chances of survival. IQ measures the ability to analyze and make connections quickly, so high IQ brains are primed to look for more and increasingly abstract negatives at a faster pace, which leads to a poorer mood. Even when all your physical needs are accounted for, the brain is still in overdrive trying to find something that is wrong
