so your question isn't "how to get from A to B" or "can DNA express A and B" but, is there a viable path between two strings of DNA
well sadly the "scientists" working in this area are biologists, they are not engineers, developers, mathematicians or problem solvers, so the developments will be arduous and slow

I think that is an optical illusion due to the overall head being smaller and narrower.
Interesting fact, the Arctic wolf can outrun a Greyhound which was specifically bred to be the fastest dog. Dog breeding never creates anything new, it only subtracts what was already there from the effective holotype dog ancestor: the wolf.

Wide flatter shallow noses are good for heat loss. eg - black's noses
Longer narrower noses are good for warming air being inhaled eg - European/Jewish noses.
