Do you need to learn Calculus before going into any other fields of higher mathematics? Why is Calculus so important to everything else? Is the foundation of higher maths all dependent on Calculus? Yes I know I'm a brainlet and this is a retarded question thanks for helping the retarded.

Calculus is a purely anglo-american phenomen. People study analysis, separating the theoretical from the computational makes no sense.

To answer your question, no calculus is not that important in other fields of mathematics, but it can pop up. Algebraic topology, algebraic geometry, commutative algebra -- no calculus.

its the foundation of many physics and lower level mathematics used in natural sciences. Basically it's much more important for an engineer to approximate the highest value of production over time or the speed of the increade than knowing what group symmetries or prime ideals exist in his problems.

Why is that a bad thing?

The "I heart science" people are the types that don't actually know what science is beyond memescience pages... I hope you don't think an education is bad :(

worthlessly memorizing ZOG lies in the academic/government brainwashing camp isn't "an education"

calculus is pretty straightforward.
to be fluent in science, you need to also learn differential equations and tensors

Yeah, unlike us 4channelers who frickin heart math, yet only understand it to a 6th grade level.

Intersting thing is, in Israeli education, we have something called "Hedwa" which is calculus but teached at high school and then at uni you continue to "infinitesimal analysis" which is just real analysis.

In a broad way, almost every field of math connects to analysis
you can however study undergrad set theory, topology and maybe even algebra without interacting with derivatives and integrals and what not (you'll still bump into continuity in topology)

But the crux of the matter is why you are asking your question, you are either
A) getting filtered by calculus, in which case I'd say you stand no chance understanding real math
B) you're a teen that wants to go too fast for his own good, in which case you can just brush up on the very basic results of derivatives and integrals (I'm talking literally reading a few articles) and then jump into an analysis book, which will give you a reality check
