give any child of any race a lack of food, water, proper shelter and environment and they will be, obviously, less likely to have any time for meta cognition, self recognition, ect. Test this shit on abused kids and I will bet they will be more likely scared of the mirror then able to see themselves in it, regardless of race or culture or whatever.
Give those developing countries a few generations of proper nutrition and stability and then thy'll be a little more meta aware
