The launch wasn't fake.

They definitely sent a spacecraft up there, and it probably had people on it, and they probably did an actual spacewalk.

But they've got this weird cultural attitude where they have to show everybody how perfect they are.

Hence, fake video where there's no issue with "oh my god did my suit just rip?" going on. No unexpected surprises or anything like that.
