I didn't come from a math/stem background either, so I understand the frustration. That said, I was able to grind through it, ending on a high note in my last few semesters by hitting the deans list, then blew through my master's with great marks.

I recall doing some post-undergrad research, and being a little envious of the others, who came from private schools or had professional parents, and so had a wide circle of people to talk to about math etc. In the end, even if I could have gone farther or done better with a better background nobody really controls that about themselves, and so I chose to keep working at it to be the least retarded version of myself I could be. Hopefully that's inspirational or something. I dunno.
