How does one become more intelligent?
(Please no silly responses)

>> No.14599876

Intelligence is karma. You gotta be born right. If you were born dumb and retarded then that's your life.

So there's nothing I can do?

nope
>>14599863
you can increase your intelligence. Most task that demand a lot of work from your brain (math exercises logic exercises etc) has been proven to increase your intelligence. They noticed up to 20% increase.

first random paper i googled. They are many of them. If you arent crazy smart and havent worked on it before you can see good increase. If you have arleady worked with your head a bit or you are arleady somewhat smart you can still see increase but dont expect to be the next einstein.

Practice IQ tests. I took the same IQ test once a week and memorized the answers. In 6 months I raised my IQ from 90 to 105.

So the maximum amount you can increase your intelligence by is 10-20% by actively doing cognitively complex tasks?

>> No.14599925

>>14599917
not maximum. I dont know that i just remember that they have seen this as a top result from about half a year of training. But for real your intelligence will improve itself when you work. I wasnt ever crazy smart but i worked hard and i was always able to archieve what i wanted.
Btw most of the geniuses i knew from uni or school ended either on meth or are suicidal.

your iq will probably rise 5-10 pts higher than it would otherwise have been. I don't see another efficient way of exploiting phenotypic plasticity to raise iq.

you are fighting your ape brain you can train it to behave or just accept you are not a machine. Try to improve as much as you can but you cant be happy and be a work machine at the same time. Just enjoy your ape brain bro.

you can still improve at later stages of life. But 25-35 is you intelligence peak you will be quickly fighting degradation of mind.

Do you have any advice for that? I think I might have some hormonal issue as I'm in a demotivated state quite often but I think that could be caused by my lifestyle since I don't sleep the recommended amount of time or have a good diet.

then dont but dont complain you cant focus and are tired all the time. I like pretty much everyone else also struggle with this but im blaming only myself and i have learned that its not coping its a fact and i have to accept it that i have a monkey brain and i will forever have to fight it. It never really gets easier to focus and work you just get used to working tired.

Sleep and diet first off are the most vital improvements you can make. If you pay attention to you body while actively making positive changes, you will be amazed at how much better you feel.

Also, as far as improving concentration goes, try spending time meditating or doing breathing exercises. It has a documented positive effects on the body and mental health. Same with exercise.

Furthermore, when it comes time to study, use the "pomodoro" technique -- a fancy way of saying 20 minutes of study followed by 5 minutes of break time. You can adjust the times, but work must be more than break. 20/10, 25/5, whatever.

Keep your phone and all other distractions out of arms reach during the study phase.

Good luck my fellow retard.

Learn one new thing every day and this will accumulate and build on itself exponentially.
Get yourself a mentor who is smarter than you to guide you through.
Formal education condenses this process and can be considered a short cut to knowledge accumulation.
Wisdom, however, comes from experience.

Your intelligence cannot increase outside of your brain expanding thats why the only time you notice your IQ increasing is from babyhood to adulthood once you are an adult your IQ is locked in place unless your brain gets damaged by a number of things but raising your IQ is completely absolutely fucking impossible its like creating matter from nothing its like you being able to benchpress pass the limits of your muscle fibres.

>> No.14602005

You seem to be suggesting that size is all that matters. I argue that structure is important as well, and that can be changed with effort. Studying complex material, learning a new language, learning an instrument can all improve your intelligence to some degree.

Well yes the brains volume is the source of our IQ relative to the brainless non human primates who exist. Also you cannot improve your intelligence no matter how hard I try I cannot comprehend the math behind quantum mechanics even I studied for 1000 years where as a human genius can get it after a few months.
