It's just a signal, it doesn't really have any deep meaning, the purpose of it is to be something your fellow humans can observe in this case hear and see, as a reaction that signals your appreciation of them and how you are friends and having a good time and sheeit. Trough the use of such signal people like you more and they also know you like them which helps maintain group cohesion and increase your chances of survival as opposed to someone who doesn't send out such signals.
