How come they are not studying the following?

Because it has no practical applications, and won't get you $500k starting.

>Important questions in the philosophy of logic such as: “why are there so many logics instead of just one?”
Are these people serious? If there are so many logics, then which logic am I supposed to use to understand what this sentence means?

>“why are there so many logics instead of just one?”
Because we keep inventing them.

Because we are trying to get a degree to get a solid career. There are not many people who genuinely love math, most just see it as something they have to learn to get a career. Most people have other interests, sports, partying, social lifes, etc.

The lure of easy money does bring in a lot of people with little interest or motivation, but by the third year the ones left are all pretty competent at their chosen field. Pure math is pretty cool, but its a less useful degree if you’re just trying to strike a decent work life balance and get money.

>Why is Computer Science full of midwits and trash?
Because some of them realize that upper division math is too hard for them but they still want to hold on to the prestige even though they are completely undeserving of it. Its not always like this, >>14491774 is a more common thing to find.

>Why is Computer Science full of midwits and trash?

Because CS programs used to be part of math departments but job demand for dev work is so high unis cashed in by appealing to the lowest common denominator. CS now days doesn't even require Calc in many programs and ends up being a useless degree.

This issue isn't unique to CS either. I had people in my graduating class for math that couldn't prove their way out of a paper bag.

Why do you need to prove your way out of a paper bag? You either suffocate or you live. If you wanted to formulate a proof, you'd conclude a 50% probability to live.

Who said they aren't? I like how the point of this meme is eternally lost on precisely the kind of people it shits on.

>The tyrant placed before St. Clement a heap of gold, of silver, and of gems, and promised to give them to the holy martyr if he would renounce the faith of Christ. The saint heaved a sigh of sorrow at the sight of the blindness of men, who put earthly riches in comparison with God.

That's why there are graduate studies.
