Humans communicate via storytelling and metaphor and have a tendency to personify objects, forces, and ideas. It is not surprising that given "life" to any number of incompletely understood natural phenomena.

I understand what you're saying and that's true but I'm wondering what makes the majority of humans on this planet have some sort of faith in a higher power, it can't just be passed down through word of mouth, who told the originator? I think it's hardwired into our minds to follow leaders and look higher and higher, this has created Gods.

I don't think you quite grasp what I'm saying and how it relates to evolution. if it was advantageous to follow a leader (and that's how most packs work) why wouldn't this trait be passed on and perhaps be so strong it searches for a (for want of a better word) "divine" leader.

it's not a sound scientific question. There would need to be science in the question. You have something vaguely leaning towards evolution and the like, but lacking in specifics. Scientific specifics. Your question is largely philosophical, and while it is interesting, there is zero science in the question itself.

Science is the tool used to determine why things are as they are. The majority of humans believe in a higher power. I'm interested in whether there’s an evolutionary advantage in leaning towards faith. Why is it so prevalent in probably all societies?
