The Mali Empire (by the way, the people and culture from that area is just called "Mali", so you probably just added "an" on the end because you assumed such an ending due to no actual knowledge of the subject material) was hardly some advanced and scientifically driven culture, although they were definitely much more than just stick/mud hut building primitives.

I know that the Mali Empire was a major provider of African slaves to the Europeans for centuries.

A largely unknown fact about the the slave trade was that it was just that. A TRADE. For the most part, Europeans didn't just go to Africa and kidnap random villages or people. That would've caused plenty of backlash and jeopardized the other trades (gold, salt, copper, etc.). Africans are just as capable of being racist as Caucasians are, or any other "race" (race is, after all, a purely invented concept that implies a difference other than skin pigmentation among human beings) for that matter, so just shut the fuck up.

Untermenschen controlling large tracts of land does not constitute an 'empire.' Greece and Rome gave us our system of government, language - basically our way of life. Other than ancient Egypt (who were only half African anyway), Africa has never been filled with anything but sand people that cannot feed themselves and wipe their ass with their right hand.
