What's weird is that they're using very basic logic and common sense...

It's just that they're basing it all on poor assumptions, misinformation and lack-of knowledge.

But they're right. Macro evolution hasn't been proven.

>How can like an African American person evolve from a white person? We different skin.
And that is where the theory of macro evolution begins to fall apart. Until macro evolution is backed by firm evidence, it is nothing more than a guess. You might as well teach creationism alongside evolution, seeing as how they both have the same amount of supporting evidence (none).

Shit, I'm not even an evolutionary biologist, and listening to that was like pulling teeth. What's sad is that I could actually answer any question they had down to a T, but I feel it would be a useless gesture given how brainwashed they likely are.

It's getting very difficult to control my emotions when people ask why I hate my own country so much. If we didn't have such amazing research facilities (many labs of which are staffed by Chinese immigrants who don't even speak English when working in groups) I'd be so out of here.

But I can't say no to the biotech industry here, and I don't want to learn Japanese or German and move to somewhere with less opportunity. But god damn it's seeming like less and less of a crazy idea given how scarily stunted our nation is becoming. Even if I'm part of the apparently rare-breed caste of intelligentsia who run this country, I am just too ashamed of who represents me/who I represent to stand it much longer.

Shouldn't be freedom to practice religion, it should be freedom "of" religion.

There's no such thing as brainwashing. The appropriate thing to do is to answer the questions accurately, and encourage them to at least have an open mind about the topic. They have a strong emotional attachment to their beliefs, so it's not reasonable to expect them to change their minds immediately upon being given a valid reason. It takes time.

nay, should be freedom "from" religion

>HURR DURR INBRED HICKS
I'm glad you found a group of people to look down on. Does it make you feel better about being a fat basement dweller?

It seems that atheists often replace their belief in one form of religion with another. Atheists are quick to criticize religion, but blindly believe whatever their tenured college professors (who would ruin their reputation by expressing a belief in creationism) tell them. Here are the facts: micro evolution is true. No question at all. But macro evolution is a different story. There has never been a single study done to back up macro evolution. Ignoring this, and teaching evolution in science classrooms without considering the alternatives is indoctrination and goes against the principles that atheists claim to embrace.

Macro evolution and creationism are equally valid theories that explain how we got here. In fact, since creationism has the Bible as evidence, I'd say it should be taught first.

Keep sucking the religious cock. You are no different from the creationists you mock.

What the fuck? I'm 22, you're question makes no sense, my entire family is atheist, some more prejudice then others towards religions, then others, just as religious people of different religions and sects of religions are to themselves and to those void the possibility of any religion all together. So point being, I've been atheist my entire life, Ive questioned it a lot, and came to a logical conclusion every time that religions of all kinds, and they come in "millions" including sects of religions, are philosophy at best, and at worst, regressive.
