My uncle was saying how when someone dies they weigh 21 grams less because their soul leaves the body. I told him about the permanent air pocket in the lungs and how it's closer to 2 grams but I need more arguments.

You soul weighs more depending if you are a good person or bad person - the badder dude you are, the heavier it is, thus making it harder to ascend to the heavens. There have been reports of souls being SO heavy that they actually fall instead of rise, so heavier souls fall into the depths of hell.

If you get 21g lighter then it means your soul is heavier than air and is going down. If your soul was lighter than air and going up (see: helium) then your body would get 21g heavier.

When the air leaves your lungs, sure your weight decreases by <span class="math">\rho_1 V g[/spoiler] (g = earth gravity), but your buoyancy also decreases by <span class="math">\rho_2 V g[/spoiler] where <span class="math">\rho_2[/spoiler] is the density of air outside your body. The decrease in the mass registered on the balance is only <span class="math">(\rho_1 - \rho_2) V[/spoiler], which is only a small fraction of the mass of air that was in your lungs, which probably wasn't very large in the first place.
