/sci/ how many of you are familiar with the "Tunguska Event?" Ever since it occurred in 1908 it has been treated with mystery and intrigue, a true scientific riddle. The varying explanations have ranged from "Nikola Tesla experimenting (successfully) with forming black holes," to UFO's to Antimatter to a spontaneous release of 10 million metric tons of natural gases from the Earth's crust...

However I think the solution to the riddle is much simpler. If you examine the bases of the fallen trees there are clear markings that something man made was, at the very least, tampering with this "evidence."

Anyway, what's your opinion?

I remember reading about this ages ago. I blame Bigfoot, also known by its Latin name, Sasquatch.

Look closer. This is the only known studio quality evidence of the disaster (>>1309436)
, and it clearly disproves "meteor hurr durr" it leaves chemical markings almost like an early precursor to atomic technology.

Stupid OP

The trees don't indicate a meteor impact.

I remember seeing a special on this that said it was a ball of lightning (not trolling) that exploded or something. Look it up.

>> No.1309544

The episode of Cosmos about this pretty much clears it up. Don't be dumbshits.

>> No.1309555

It was a meteor with a large water-ice content. All the ice melted in atmospheric entry, impact and the time it took for anyone to actually find the impact crater, in which there was no physical chunk of rock left.
