We share a very distant ancestor before reptiles and after amphibians with birds. Social behaviour evolved many times separately. Intelligence arose many times in those animals. Empathy evolved at least twice.

No one can argue intelligence isn't a straight shot from complex life. And intelligent aliens would most likely be empathetic and kind.

first we need to integrate people on this plant, after that I will care about ETs

Empathy. One stage in the evolution that can be traced between 'Self' and 'Caring for another creature'. Further growth can become 'caring for other creatures not prevelent to self' 'caring for something not directly related to survival' and, possibly: "Altering my situation to provide comfort to others"

IE:

Corvids are goddam smart.

Durrhn I give a fuhk about thaaaat! urdurdurrr!

Animal intelligence helps our own. Corvids, being probably the most intelligent non-human entity around, well, shy of apes (fuck apes!), are neat examples of alternative evolution.

So you're arguing that early amniotes were intelligent and empathetic? Fuck off. Crocodiles are as cold as an icecube.
