>dude, the universe is actually made up of 80+% of stuff we can't see or measure. you gotta trust me on this, okay???
>dude, the universe is gonna become nothing but black holes consuming each other and evaporating nonstop. my ph.d means i can't be wrong, alright???
>dude, there is actually an infinite number of universes, and new universes are born and destroyed every second. don't you see all the grant money i pull in for my university??? i can't be wrong!
>hey, i dont have proof to explain any of these crackpot ideas, but you have to believe them because not believing them would be anti-science. you don't want to be some crack smoking deadbeat midwest redneck trumpie science denier, do you???
How far do these crazy """""theories""""" go until these """"theories""""" end up sounding more ridiculous and convoluted than all the religions that all these scientists hate on so much? Some of these ideas sound straight out of one of L. Ron Hubbard's fever dreams. Doesn't help that most of these theories are based on decades and centuries old equations that are outdated respective of all the crackpot ideas that are introduced. Plus most scientists being egomaniacs means all these theories exist solely for some ivory tower bookworms to circlejerk about ridiculous ideas without coming to any meaningful or quantifiable conclusions. I'm all for science or whatever, but people need to draw the line somewhere.

Did you know that the universe is static and time is just an illusion our minds created?

>the universe is actually made up of 80+% of stuff we can't see or measure
Except we've directly detected dark matter
>the universe is gonna become nothing but black holes consuming each other and evaporating nonstop
I would like to see your alternative hypothesis that suggests otherwise.
> there is actually an infinite number of universes, and new universes are born and destroyed every second
Show me any single credible individual who has said that.

give us a better model for how the universe reaches equilibrium then?

I can confirm this. In a way, Last Thursdayism is correct, but it's not Thursday that the universe was created on. It's November 19, 2016, 10am GMT+0.

If you take enough LSD, you travel to that time and see for yourself that nothing really changes, you just exist in that moment with memories of the past and anticipation for the future, neither of which ever really happened.

But seriously though, why doesn't dark matter like to settle down and concentrate into clumps? The bullet cluster freaks me out

You do know that you're capable of measuring something without knowing what it is... right?
