Ive always wanted to self-study these topics, but its looking more and more like I almost HAVE to study these topics to remain relevant in the future.

Does anyone else find themselves wanting to go back to school in their 30s and 40s for that reason?

Honestly you'll end up learning them in public school before long.

You're too late to be doing that shit in your 40s. By then you should have enough soft skills, business partners, and investment assets to con 20somethings into doing the technical work. Otherwise you won't have the raw brainpower to keep up.

I’m in my 30s and kinda wanna get out of being a data analyst to being a data scientist. I’m at a bit of an advantage because Ive worked adjacent to data scientists. But I only have a bachelors degree so I need to self- teach the technical stuff. I think a masters in stats is probably a waste of time because it’s got a lot of fluff that’s academic and not practical for work
