Why does the black man have a noticeably different score from the rest of them?

it's counterproductive to memorize it to more than that amount of digits.
is use the wallis product like a real man

Because he's not an autistic fuck wasting his time writing down a bunch of digits

He and the other guy with glasses are the only two who are right. The other people just wrote approximations.

Do mathematicians really recite pi from memory as a way to calm their nerves/deal with stress or is it just a hollywood meme?

Pure meme. We recite [math]e[/math] from memory

I've never understood why anyone would ever waste their precious brain space with something as inane and pointless as memorizing the digits of pi. First of all, pi doesn't exist -- it's just a human construct, there is nothing in nature which reflects pi, it is simply a tool created by humans. Second, infinity doesn't exist in reality, so anyone positing that an object that has infinite values exists is an idiot. Third, there is nothing of value that memorizing these digits can give you. Fourth, even if you were in a situation where you are forced to use this construct, you'd use a computer anyway. Fifth, if you can't use a computer to do your calculations, your calculations will be a vague and ultimately wrong approximation because you don't know literally all digits of pi.
