Standardized test only correlates with first year college performance. Besides that, it’s a test you can take multiple times and easily game provided you’re willing to put in the time. That said....

Let's not ignore the fact that ACT and SAT scores play less of a role in admissions than the socioeconomic status of the applicant. Even with the same ACT scores, a disadvantaged white applicant is 20% less likely to be admitted than a wealthy white applicant.

>> No.12696469

I took the ACT a long time ago when the results were still sent to your high school to be handed out to you by a teacher. When I got mine, my composite score was a 12! My stomach fell down into my shoes, I was so crushed. A few seconds later my homeroom teacher took the results back. Turned out she handed me the wrong sheet and I had a 31. The girl that got the 12 already had a full ride scholarship to the University of Mississippi, which they rescinded. Don't know if she retook the test later or if she got her scholarship back if she got her score up. Funny thing is that she had good grades and was always on the honor roll. Which just goes to show you how easy and mostly worthless high school is.

btw, Asians make it fucking impossible to get above a 1500 without being literally perfect. Got 3 questions wrong out of like 100 on the reading/writing sections and that got me a 760. 7 questions wrong on the math section was a 690. I looked up the typical curve afterward and it's impossible to get an 800 on math without getting every single question right, and reading/writing has a buffer of 1-2
